My name no longer
'I am coming for you,' the thing hissed. 'I will get you, take you, kill you.' The thing's long black fangs dripped an oozing green liquid out of them. Its glowing red eyes stood out against its dark indescribable skin color. Dark shadows deepened and showed its horns more clearly. Raven shook in terror.
'N-no! Please leave me alone!' Raven cried. She ran, fear overtaking her normally calm actions.
'Run, you cannot escape me. I will always find you. You cannot hide from me Raven Roth. You cannot hide from me,' the thing laughed.
Raven came to a sudden stop. 'No. Raven Roth cannot hide from you anymore. She does not exist. At least not in the same sense that she did before. I am Raven…'
Raven jolted up in her bed. She looked around as though to find the 'thing' that had been haunting her dreams since she was a young girl. Just recently had she been able to stand up for herself against the 'thing'. Used to it had terrified her that it knew her name, figment of her imagination or not. Now however when it called her Raven Roth something inside her caused her to feel brave.
There was a soft groan next to her. Raven's head jerked to the side, part of her horrified that the 'thing' from her dream really was in the room with her.
"Raven," the husky from sleep voice said. "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing. It was just a dream," Raven whispered.
The man beside her put an arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him. Raven lay back down and snuggled into his side.
"Are you alright?" he asked.
"Yeah. I am now," Raven replied sleepily.
Raven felt Robin smile slightly.
She wasn't afraid anymore. The demon from her dreams no longer knew her name. She was no longer Raven Roth. She was Raven Grayson, the wife of Richard 'Robin' Grayson.
Raven fell asleep with peaceful dreams for the fist time in years.
