A light breeze blew, fitting perfectly with the thoughts that accompanied him. His golden brown hair ruffled in the breeze as he stood still, staring blankly at a stone in the ground. A tombstone with the word "Ryuzaki" etched on it stared back at him.

"It has been three years since your dea-…since I had you killed", he corrected himself. "The perfect world that I envisioned is now almost complete. But why do I not feel like it is? What am I missing?", his words, now coated with anger and frustration, echoed through the graveyard on that grim night.

It dawned upon Light, as he stood motionless, that life had become too stationary for him. He had lost his only intellectual equal. He realized now that his concept of a perfect world was flawed, that everything must have an opposite side to it and thus good could never exist in absolution.

He stood there, now thinking of his encounters with the mighty L. The time when he'd been caught off guard in school by L just coming up to him and revealing his identity. He thought about how risky that had been and yet, just how brilliant it was. He thought of their relentless tennis match, of him being cuffed to this ridiculously odd sugar addict, of him being imprisoned. Finally, he thought of that rainy night on the roof. Was that a moment of understanding between them? An impossible moment of friendship? Could it really have been? Well, it didn't matter anymore.

"I went up against a genius, the smartest detective in the world. He read my moves but only the ones I wanted him to. I stayed two steps ahead of him the entire time even if it cost me a few things. I don't truly have a family anymore and my stupid pawn Misa gave up three quarters of her life for me. But you know what? I beat him. I stayed right by his side and he could do nothing to stop me. That's right, I am the one true God who deserves to recreate the faulty world created by our so called maker and protector as I see fit. The world without L is the only model of a perfect world and I will fulfill my plan of eradicating crime, crime as I see it. After all, I am….JUSTICE."

His bright red hair blew gently in the wind. His devilish red eyes looked on as a wry, diabolical smirk dressed his face. There he was, the brilliant, cold hearted, focused and resolute man we'd all known, standing in all his pride, glory, valor and magnificence. The real Light, or dare I say, Kira. He turned back and looked up. Arms raised, as if addressing an imaginary audience, he spoke loudly and clearly- "I am the God of the new world!"
He broke into a maniacal laughter and began his ascent to the throne that awaited a long sought King. His voice echoed on, unscathed and unparalleled.
