Starter Sentence: "_ hadn't seen him in a _ years now."
Challenge: Write a story in second person. (i.e. you _)
You haven't seen him in a thousand years now. Personally, you aren't surprised. Middle Earth – or just Earth now, you suppose – is a big place and ever since the land broke apart and the people broke into countries, it has only seemed to get bigger. When you last saw him a thousand years ago, before that you hadn't seen him in two. You find it funny, since you two are the only ones left; one would think that you would try and spend more time together. Maybe it is because he is Noldo and you are Sinda. Your two races have never really gotten along; not even from the beginning. Because of this, you aren't expecting to see him for at least another hundred years. This gives you a good reason to be surprised when you are just outside of Boston in the human year 1769 and you see him sitting in a tree. That was the same position you found him in last time you met up in…Eru, it had been so long, you doubted even he remembered where it had been. And you both know how long lasting his memory is. Neither of you formally greet the other, you just lock eyes and he dips his head ever so slightly. And you go on your way. You suppose it is at least near the sea, more normal for him; he prefers the salt waters of the body of water that splits him from his home. Your home died long ago and you have given up trying to hold onto it. You can't even find Doriath anymore. But the place wasn't what made it home and you suspect that you wouldn't know it from the country you wander now if you should ever happen to stumble upon it. She made it home for you and without her; it is just another piece of land. For him…you don't really know what he waits for, but you don't ask. After all, you don't wish to make things awkward the few times you meet with someone who knows. You know what makes home for you, but not for him and if it will comfort him even the slightest, you will wait; forever wondering. You take comfort from the conversations the two of you have and you have a feeling that he does too.
This is because I realized that I had never written Daeron. Silly me. :)
