Authors note: I want to get a few things out of the way before I start the story.

If I say something that contradicts something in the show, sorry

I don't take criticism, only hate mail in the form of haiku.

This is writing practice for the future and I promise I will finish this story even if it takes me 70 years.

Prologue

Emerald was having a bad day, a very bad day in fact. The off colors and the human escaped her grasp once more and stars above who knows how she will explain this to the diamonds! It was infuriating, humiliating, and- and she couldn't think of anything else to describe the anger she feels.

She slides her palm down her face and sighs. Emerald was a high class member of gem society so of course she was issued a standard issue Pearl. Pearls as you may know are not high class and instead serve the high class so imagine her surprise when her Pearl speaks to her without being addressed first!

"Uh-ma'am-sir-I-Uh." She sputters.

Emerald sighs once more and looks down from her chair at her Pearl.

"Get on with it!" She commands.

"Of course, I have spotted an unidentified Gem vessel approaching us."

Emerald looks ahead and she's a grey orb in front of her ship. It wasn't one she recognized as it had no windows, thrustors, or much of anything really. It was just a big, smooth, grey orb in space.

This catches Emeralds attention ands tells Pearl to hail them immediately. A holo-screen appears on the main window but no video is being transmitted, just audio. It's deathly silent for a moment and Emerald is ready to blast the ship for wasting her time until she hears a voice on the other end.

"You and your entire crew have one minute to surrender immediately." The voice said

This set off a few thoughts in her head, firstly this didn't sound like any gem she knew as the voice was too deep. No, it was more like the annoying human that eluded her. Secondly, the voice was barely legible, a mix of gravely tones of an amethyst with the reverb of a diamond yelling at some unfortunate soul. Thirdly, what in diamonds name was this PEBBLE thinking threatening her of all gems!

"45 seconds." The voice stated.

"Enough, I will not take such insult. Pearl tell our forces to ready weapons." Emerald yelled.

"Very well, I gave you your chance."

With that said the comms line closes and everything is silent for a moment.

The ships weapons charge with glowing green energy and are ready to fire at command. Emerald stands up, points to the ship and yells the command to fire. However, half-way through the order the enemy ship explodes into multiple tendrils all rushing towards her.

The green lighting of the ship turns red as the alarms start blaring. Gems scramble out of the seats in a rush to defend themselves. The Pearl turns towards Emerald in a panic and starts telling reports of the damage.

"Multiple hull breaches detected, we have reports that enemy forces have entered the ship!"

She would say more if a tendril of stone didn't thrust its way through her chest. For a brief moment she was silent and just looked down at the wound. The next moment she was a gem falling on the floor. A hand caught her before she met the ground, and that hand belonged to the mystery man with the tendril of stone sticking out of his back.

Emerald tries to identify him as some obscure gem but she could find nothing. There wasn't any gem that she could see and his face was covered by an all grey mask with no features. He was about as tall as Lars but bulkier, the rest of his body was coated in the stone material. He looks down at the Pearl gem in his hand, his expression unreadable. Still looking at the pear he speaks towards Emerald.

"Quite a shame isn't it, to live your life in servitude of another and to have it ended so soon."

He began to squeeze the pearl cracks appearing in towards the edges. The ship rumbles ready to burst apart any second. Emerald has had enough of this and pulls out her weapon from her eye. It's a crossbow with a green coloring but without strings or a bolt to shoot. She growls and energy courses through the groves of the crossbow creating energy based projectile and string.

He looks up finally at her without a hint of emotion. The pearl in his hand shatters as he closes his fist. Emerald begins to fire energy bolts at him without avail tendrils quickly blocking the shots midair. He walks at a steady pace towards her with uncompromising resolve. Emerald starts backing away still firing and beginning to fear for her life. Finally, he stops for a moment and dashes towards her, grabbing her by the throat. He lifts her into the air staring into her eyes clenching his fist.

"If it makes you feel better, I was going to kill you all anyway."

She hears a beep coming from him. He puts a finger to his ear and she can make out the conversation.

"Sir, we have the coordinates."

"Understood, tell our forces to retreat I'm bringing this ship down."

With that said his other arm transforms into a spike and he raises it to her chest.

"Goodbye, Emerald."

She couldn't die like this, she was a gem elite, and she still had thousands of years left at least. To die at the hands of this – this monster was the ultimate insult. Why she had half the mind to-

He thrusts.

Her gem falls onto the ground; he takes one look at it before he raises his foot. He brings it down in one swift strike, crushing it instantly. He scrapes his foot on the floor in mild annoyance. Tendrils of stone burst through the walls, destroying everything in its path. He takes a look at the security camera in the corner and his body comes apart dissolving into the tendrils.

The ship explodes, scattering into hundreds of pieces. The tendrils reform into the orb ship from earlier and warp away to its unknown destination. Inside the ship Stone rises from the floor into his form walking towards the pilot's seat. He turns to another person beside him and speaks.

"Beta, are you sure this is the right location?" he asks

Beta, unlike him doesn't wear a mask and shows himself in plain view. His skin has a blue color with semi long white hair. His eyes are unknown as they are covered with a purple visor. The rest of his body isn't anything special, only a little shorter than his leader with the rest of his body covered in basic gem armor.

"Yes, Alpha we've found the origin point."

Alpha, as he is now known, nods to him and tells him to set course.
