Natsuki and Shizuru's Thanksgiving

Natsuki and Shizuru have a weird, but enjoyable Thanksgiving together.

Note: Mai-Hime's studio is Sunrise and the anime is based on a manga of the same name.

Thanksgiving was coming up and Natsuki Kuga was hoping she would get to spend the day with Shizuru Fujino, her girlfriend. Natsuki and Shizuru met up at Shizuru's house to talk about.

Natsuki asked, "Are you free on Thanksgiving?"

Shizuru answered, "Of course I am. I'd be delighted to spend the day with you."

Natsuki smiled and replied, "I'm glad about that. Where should we go?"

Shizuru said, "I could make a reservation at the fancy restaurant across the street."

Natsuki nervously said, "But that place is pretty expensive. They charge about twenty dollars for stuff you can get three times cheaper at fast food places."

Shizuru replied, "Don't worry. I'll pay for it."

Natsuki responded, "But that would be unfair. I insist on paying for at least half of it."

Shizuru smiled and said, "You're so sweet."

Natsuki stubbornly replied, "No I'm not. I'm a rough, dangerous action hero."

Shizuru responded, "I'm afraid I've made you sweeter."

Natsuki blushed and said, "You are guilty of making my life brighter. I used to not care about holidays, but now I always look forward to them."

Shizuru asked, "Why?"

Natsuki answered, "I love spending the most special days of the year with you."

Shizuru replied, "Every day that we spend together is a special day."

Natsuki responded, "Fair enough."

A few days later Natsuki told her parents that she was planning on having lunch with Shizuru. Natsuki's dad said, "You can't do that."

Natsuki asked, "Why not?"

Natsuki's dad answered, "You're going to have lunch with me."

Natsuki said, "Okay."

Natsuki's mom replied, "Don't worry. You can see Shizuru after lunch is over."

Natsuki smiled and responded, "Okay. I'm very thankful to have two good parents."

Natsuki's mom replied, "And I'm thankful to have a great daughter."

Natsuki's dad said, "I'm thankful for how much money I have."

A few minutes later Natsuki got a call. She picked up the phone and asked, "What's going on?"

Shizuru answered, "I got us a reservation at the restaurant at noon."

Natsuki nervously said, "I've got bad news."

Shizuru asked, "What's going on?"

Natsuki answered, "A few hours ago my parents said that I have to have lunch with them. I'm really sorry about this."

Shizuru replied, "Don't worry. I'll change the reservation to the evening so we can have dinner together."

Natsuki smiled and said, "I look forward to it."

The next day it was Thanksgiving. Natsuki sat down at the table and asked, "What are we having for Thanksgiving lunch?"

Natsuki's dad answered, "Good stuff." The dad handed Natsuki a plate of toast and a chocolate bar.

Natsuki said, "I don't mean to be rude, but this is less fancy than I was expecting."

Natsuki's mom responded, "Your dad loves to save money. He thinks that getting expensive food is a waste of time."

Natsuki said, "I had toast for breakfast."

Natsuki's dad replied, "Since you enjoyed it for breakfast I'm sure that you'll think it's a good lunch."

Natsuki asked, "What's the chocolate bar for?"

Natsuki's dad answered, "Chocolate bars were on sale at the grocery store."

Natsuki said, "You'd lose your mind if you knew where Shizuru and I were going for dinner."

Natsuki's dad asked, "Where are you going?"

Natsuki answered, "A restaurant that's so fancy that they charge five dollars for a glass of soda."

Natsuki's dad screamed, "Oh no!"

Natsuki lightly smiled and said, "Don't worry. I'm going to use my own money so you won't lose anything."

Natsuki's dad responded, "That's great."

After lunch was over Natsuki said, "I better start getting ready for my dinner date with Shizuru."

Natsuki's mom replied, "Okay. Thanks for having lunch with us. I'm sorry about your dad's obsession with saving money."

Natsuki's dad said, "I'm thankful for how much money I saved."

Natsuki took a shower and brushed her hair. She looked around her closet for something nice to wear. She found a pink dress and said, "Looks cute enough."

After Natsuki got on the pink dress she went to the living room and asked, "Do I look okay?"

Natsuki's mom answered, "That's a lovely dress."

Natsuki said, "I haven't worn it in a few months. I usually don't like pink stuff. I hope that Shizuru likes it."

Natsuki's mom replied, "She's complimented every outfit you've ever worn so you don't have to worry about that."

Natsuki said, "I better get going."

Natsuki's mom replied, "Have a great time."

Natsuki smiled and said, "I'm sure I will."

Natsuki's dad said, "I recommend spending as little money as possible."

Natsuki sighed and replied, "Whatever."

Twenty minutes later Natsuki arrived at the restaurant. Shizuru was there and was also wearing a pink dress. Shizuru said, "It seems like great minds think alike."

Natsuki replied, "In this case it's cute minds who thought alike." Natsuki and Shizuru giggled and smiled at each other.

The waiter asked, "Can I help you?"

Natsuki answered, "We have a reservation."

The waiter asked, "What's the name?"

Shizuru answered, "Shizuru."

The waiter replied, "Your reservation was scheduled for the afternoon, but this is the evening."

Shizuru said, "But I re-scheduled the reservation."

The waiter replied, "Yes, but you're not allowed to actually eat here."

Natsuki asked, "Why not?"

The waiter answered, "Re-scheduling is frowned upon here."

Natsuki sighed and said, "Lets go to a less snooty place."

Shizuru replied, "We should go to the movies."

Natsuki asked, "Is anything good playing?"

Shizuru answered, "There's that new Johnny vs. Martin film."

Natsuki asked, "What's that about?"

Shizuru answered, "It's about Johnny Depp and Martin Short arguing about who did the best job at playing the Mad Hatter."

Natsuki said, "That sounds mad, bonkers, but all the best movies are."

Natsuki and Shizuru went to the theater and got the tickets. Natsuki asked, "Should we get popcorn and pop?"

Shizuru answered, "Of course."

Natsuki nervously said, "I hope that it's not too expensive."

One of the employees said, "It cost ten dollars for a bag of popcorn and eight dollars for a soda."

Natsuki asked, "Why is it so expensive?"

The employee answered, "Because it's a holiday."

Natsuki asked, "You're using the holidays as an excuse to scham people?"

The employee answered, "I'm thankful for customers that don't ask those type of questions."

After spending a bunch of money Natsuki and Shizuru went into the theater. Adverisements were being shown on the big screen. Natsuki said, "I was hoping to give you a more exciting Thanksgiving than this."

Shizuru asked, "What do you mean honey? This is a wonderful Thanksgiving."

Natsuki replied, "But we missed out on having a nice dinner and instead we spent like fifty dollars for popcorn and soda at the movie theater."

Shizuru responded, "But all of that stuff happened while we were together and I'm very thankful of the time I get to spend with you."

Natsuki blushed and said, "I'm thankful for that too." Shizuru put her arm around Natsuki's shoulder. Natsuki asked, "Do you have to make everyday we spend together so cute?"

Shizuru answered, "Yes."

Natsuki smiled and said, "I'm thankful for that. I love you."

Shizuru replied, "I love you too." Natsuki and Shizuru kissed.

One of the theater guests said, "You can't kiss in a movie theater." Natsuki and Shizuru ignored the theater guest. The theater guest threw such a big fit that he threw his soda at the screen.

Natsuki said, "You can't throw soda at a movie screen." Natsuki and Shizuru giggled. The theater guest was so mad that he ran up to the projector room and broke the projector.

Shizuru said, "It seems like we'll have to see the movie tomorrow instead of right now."

Natsuki replied, "It's not a problem. You were right about this being a great Thanksgiving. There's nothing in life I'm more thankful for than you."

Shizuru blushed and said, "I was going to say the same thing about you."

Natsuki replied, "Cute minds think alike." Natsuki and Shizuru held hands while walking out of the theater.

Natsuki said, "I hope that we can spend the next Thanksgiving together."

Shizuru replied, "I assure you that we will."

Natsuki asked, "Will it be another weird day?"

Shizuru smiled and said, "I think it'll be crazy."

Natsuki replied, "I don't care how eccentric the holidays get as long as I'm with you." Natsuki and Shizuru smiled at each other before giving each other a goodnight kiss. They didn't have a normal Thanksgiving, but they enjoyed it. They were thankful for Thanksgiving, but they were most thankful for each other.
