Jackson Kratt, age 30, sat in his chair by the fireplace in his house. He had just gotten home that day from a tour in the USA as Jackson Kratt, the Guitar Player and Singer, and was looking forward to relaxing in front of the fire out of the cold wintery night. Jamie Rivera Kratt, age 29, Jackson's wife, came in through the door connecting the kitchen to the living room.
"Welcome home, Jack," she said, her voice full of emotion.
Jackson jumped up and embraced his wife. "Oh, Jamie," he said. "Its so good to see you!" Then he let go and stood back, looking her over. She had bags under her eyes and her belly looked bigger. "Are you OK, Jamie?" he asked.
"Yes, I'm fine. Its just that…" Jamie started, her voice trailing off.
"Just what?" Jackson asked, looking nervous.
"Well…" Jamie started. Jackson held his breath. "I'm two months pregnant!" Jamie finished, sounding like she was going to burst with excitement.
"Oh my gosh Jamie! I can't believe it! This is the best day ever!" Jackson exclaimed, embracing his wife once again.
7 Months Later…
It was January 12th, and Jamie laid in the hospital bed, holding her baby girl. They had to do a c-section to get the baby girl out, and Jackson worried like crazy, but in the end the entire family was happier than a monkey with a barrel of bananas.
"What should we name her?" Jamie whispered, gazing at her baby as if she was the most precious thing in the world.
"How about… Rebecca?" Jackson said, taking the first name that popped into his head.
"Rebecca… It fits," Jamie said, breathing a sigh of happiness.
8 Years Later…
Rebecca sat in her room, drawing. She loved to draw, and her parents were very supportive, always telling her that her drawings were great. Today was her birthday, her 8th birthday, to be exact, and she was waiting for her parents to get up. It was only 5 AM, but she couldn't fall back asleep. Her chin-length, thick black hair was unbrushed, but she was dressed in a beautiful blue dress that brought out her blue eyes.
Finally, at 7 AM, her parents came in. "Happy birthday, sweetie!" Jamie said as she burst into the room carrying an envelope. "Open it up!" Jamie said as she handed her daughter the envelope with a smile.
Rebecca looked confused but opened up the letter. Inside was a picture of her grandfather, Martin Kratt, with his wife, Lilly Kratt. Rebecca turned it over and noticed that there was writing on the back. She quickly read the letter. Then she gasped.
"Mom, really? Are we really going on a ride on the Tortuga?!" Rebecca asked excitedly.
"Come outside and see for yourself," Jamie said with a smile.
Rebecca jumped up and ran to the backyard. There, she gasped again. There was Clair, Chris, Martin, Lilly, Aviva, koki, Jimmy, and her dad, Jackson. But that wasn't what she was gasping at. Behind her family stood the Tortuga.
"Ready?" Jamie asked as she came out and put a hand on her daughter's shoulder.
"OH YEAH!" Rebecca said as she practically jumped over to her family, quickly giving them hugs and then getting into the tortuga to explore. Itr was the perfect birthday.
