A/N: Hello! So, this is actually one of the roleplay starters I've done with a close friend, and I plan to do two versions of it; one as a fanfic, and one as a roleplay. I'll be placing the fanfic version here, but take note that I may or may not continue it. I found it interesting, and wanted to share it to you all, so why not? This will be edited somewhere in the future, so yeah. Enjoy!

The world of Remnant is a land of peace and harmony, despite the little mishaps that occur every once and a while. In this land, lived three races; the Humans, who inhabit most of the cities and kingdoms; the Faunus, humans with animalistic traits, live amongst Humans; and the most ancient beings of all, the Dragons. Humans were known to exist since the dawn of time, but according to legend, Dragons were known to exist *far* longer than the Humans.

Remnant was divided into four kingdoms, each with a different vision amongst their people; Atlas, the Northern Kingdom; Mistral, the Eastern; Vale, the Southern; and Vacuo, the Western. Each had their own abundance of the three races; however, the Dragons were growing close to extinct.

Long ago, war had waged between the three races, more or less the Humans and Faunus against the Dragons. These beings, you see, were known for their ability to take the physical form of humans, and despite ensuing these rather lithely forms, they were still blessed nevertheless with their abilities. Due to this, the Humans and Faunus thought of the Dragons as traitors, illusionists who longed to take advantage of the measly power the smaller beings had.

Really, this was not true; the race of the Dragons only wished to live peaceful lives. Unfortunately, however, due to the Humans' and Faunus' ever growing stubbornness, bloodshed ensued, and the more ancient of the creatures were forced to withdraw and hide amongst the nature around them. Some were killed, and thus, grew the hatred and boundary between these three races.

Of course, Dragons weren't the only ones they had isolated. The Humans were stubborn enough to turn on their own Faunus brethren, discriminating them and underestimating their abilities due to the little animalistic traits they held on their physical forms. This forced the two races to turn to war, until eventually it came to a point where it had died down, and the two formed an uneasy truce.

This did not stop the more stubborn heads of the Humans to discriminate and bully the Faunus, however.

Remnant lived like that for many, many years; discrimination amongst the Faunus, the Dragons forced into hiding, and the Humans taking their places as the 'Superiors' of the kingdoms. It was a thing frowned upon by many, and yet, they couldn't do anything but go along with history's carved pavement.

And that leads to now, in the kingdom of Vale, where the most Dragons are known to hide amongst the civilians lumbering around on the streets...
