Reflections

Hello. I was inspired to write a short story featuring NaminéxRoxas because...I love that couple =) Almost as much as I love SoraxKairi. Haha. So...just a little drabble. Enjoy =)

Disclaimer: Own nothing but storyline.

Another sleepless night.

Naminé sighed, giving up after having tossed and turned to no avail for the past two hours. She groaned softly, turning around to lay on her stomach as she inhaled the scent on the pillow next to hers.

It still smelled like him.

An aching feeling in her chest weighed her down, but she wanted nothing to do with it tonight. Slowly, the blonde, blue-eyed beauty slid silently off of the bed, pulling a light, white jacket around her shoulders. She walked onto the balcony, past the billowing, soft, white curtains that hung in the doorway to the area that overlooked the extravagant garden that made up the back yard. Stars shone brightly in the sky, twinkling and dancing to a light, happy melody that Naminé could not hear. The crescent moon seemed to smile, mocking her.

She breathed in deeply, exhaling the second after.

The cool night breeze calmed her down a bit. Naminé closed her eyes, leaning against the railing.

As she relaxed, she could feel a strong, muscular chest pressed up against her back, arms going around her petite figure, keeping her warm.

She opened her eyes, and the illusion faded.

Naminé bit her bottom lip to stop the stinging that had started in her eyes as the pain in her chest threatened to bring her to her knees. Her thoughts flashed to her cell phone, which was next to her bed. She could always call Kairi and Sora up, but they were probably sleeping. Besides, they deserved to take a break from reality for a while.

She was strong. She had to do this by herself.

Of course, her friends were always there for her. But when everyone else starts to hurt...Naminé knew it was only fair she relied on herself to stand up.

Looking around the dark city once again, the lights that eluminated from different windows seemed to dim. Suddenly, the night felt colder than it really was, as a draft of cold air blew in her direction, causing her to shiver violently.

There wasn't anyone to turn to.

Naminé walked back into the huge room, eyes filling with water as she glanced at the enormous king-sized bed on which only she occupied. The pain inside of her exploded then, sending silent tears streaking down her cheeks in a rapid fashion. Her eyes traveled around the room, each object filled with memories, memories of when he was still there, when he was by her side.

She walked past the grand mirror hanging on the wall, and stared at her own reflection, all by itself. It seemed to be missing half; half of her was shrouded in darkness. Naminé stared harder, commanding herself to stop crying.

Her reflection rippled in front of her very eyes, and as she stared, eyes wide at the sight, she caught a glimpse of spiky, blond-brown hair. Ocean blue eyes. A cheeky grin, the one she loved to see so much. A whte jacket, black t-shirt underneath and white and black pants.

"Roxas," she breathed.

The blue eyes seemed to smile, masking the sadness she could see was behind them. His hand reached out, pressing onto the flat surface. Naminé slowly extended her own, putting her hand right where his was. He flashed her a smile, winking.

She blinked, and then she was staring at herself.

Naminé brought her hand to where his relfection was, to where his face was inside of the mirror. Tears again began to fall, but this time, she smiled as her other hand rested above her heart.
