"No! Leave me alone, stop it! No-don't"

He was awoken by screams of terror and hurt coming from above him. Night had fallen and he could leave his cubby hole, without a problem. But it didn't matter; listening to the noises coming from her petite little body would have been enough for him to be drawn out in the sunlight.

In no time at all, he was by her bed, watching her writhe and kick while yelling at someone to stop. Trying to comfort her he stroked her cheek but that just made it worse, she pulled away and threw herself over the other side of the bed away from him. The tall Viking was perplexed by this and rushed to the other side to find her still flailing on the wooden floor boards. He bent down and grasped her in his tight embrace, to try and calm her petrified body. "Shh, Sookie, my love" he soothed into her ear to get her to ease the constant thrashings. Lying on her bed with her body shaking in fear in his lap, he whispered, "My love, you need to awaken, now". Her pulse quickened and her eyes snapped open, while she leapt from her place on Eric's lap and sprinted into the bathroom and locked the door. He had not predicted this and was caught off guard. Pacing over to the door he tapped and spoke, "Sookie. Sookie, open the door little one. I won't hurt you." No reply, "you know I could be in there in seconds, but I'm not, so please don't make me break down the door."

"Er-Eric?" the little voice spluttered as the door unlocked and slipped open. She was in a huddle in the bathtub, behind the curtain, attempting to hide herself. "Help me…" she said, tucking her head into her bent knees while she cried her heart out.

One stride and he was there kneeling the tub and hoisting her delicate frame into his arms. Nothing felt more right than having this, perfect creature attached to him.

Settling himself on the bed he laid her down in front of him, where he wrapped an arm around her tiny waist and pulled her to him. She was calmed completely, his presence did that to her. Even if she didn't want to admit it.

"Eric?" "Hmm?" "I- I love you"

Turning her over to him, he looked her deep in the eyes to see the truth. There it was… he could see it, she really did love him.

"I love you too my love, more than anything." His head dipped down to meet her awaiting lips. The world disappeared.
