Kakuzu walked into his room weary, and not just because the rain was making his bones ache. It was everything Pein was putting Akatsuki through; working them double-time, with extra missions and the like. It was enough to wear a guy out, even if he did have more than one heart beating. As a crack of thunder shook the room, movement drew Kakuzu's eyes to the other bed in the room. Hidan? Kakuzu crossed the room silently, and laid a gentle hand on what he hoped was Hidan's back. The shivering under the covers stopped almost instantly, and started up again.

"Kakuzu!" Silver hair flashed and Hidan took Kakuzu down on the bed shivering like a leaf. He was mumbling into Kakuzu's neck as he wrapped his arms around Hidan and sat up with him.

"Hidan, what's the matter? Shh, Hidan it's ok. I'm here, I'm here." Kakuzu rocked them back and forth gently until Hidan finally settled against his chest and was breathing normally again. Kakuzu pried Hidan off his neck and looked at his petite lover in the face. "What's this all about?"

Hidan was about to answer when a crack of lightning quickly followed by a loud boom of thunder cut him off. Hidan buried his face into Kakuzu's neck again and held onto him with a death grip. Kakuzu sighed softly and pried Hidan off of his neck again. "You were saying?" He nudged Hidan a little to get him to start talking.

Hidan's throat worked a little as he tried to get the words out. "I-I d-don't like loud noises, especially th-"A boom of thunder cut him off again, and Hidan went diving for Kakuzu's throat again. However, Kakuzu stopped him before he could get there.

"Hold on, you're saying you don't like bad storms because they're loud?" Kakuzu asked, brushing Hidan's watery eyes.

"The rain is fine, I just don't like thunder." Hidan mumbled. He sniffed, indignantly. "Are you going to laugh at me?"

Kakuzu's eyes softened. "No Hidan, I'm not going to laugh." He took his mask off and pecked Hidan on the cheek. Kakuzu set Hidan next to him, and proceeded to take off his shoes. As he slipped under the covers with his lover, more cracks of thunder had Hidan practically buried into Kakuzu's side, he wrapped his arms around Hidan and slipped one of his legs through Hidan'; very thoroughly wrapping the two of them together.

As Kakuzu pulled the comforter up around their shoulders, Hidan nuzzled Kakuzu's neck, and he mumbled something incoherent to Kakuzu's ears. "What Hidan?"

Hidan nuzzled in closer to Kakuzu's warmth. "I said, 'I love you Kakuzu.'"

Kakuzu smiled and kissed the top of Hidan's head. "I love you too, Hidan. Now sleep, the thunder won't get you with me around."

After some time, even with the thunder and lightning booming outside, Hidan fell asleep in Kakuzu's protective arms.
