Ichigo is a full shinigami after him and his whole family are killed in an accident after in the soul society he is adopted by the kuchki family. After a couple year ichigo gets give Karakura to patrol when patrolling he falls for a human woman named ikumi ( Ichigo's boss out of the anime) and goes to kisuke to get a gigai so he can confess to ikumi. Later after a couple weeks they are together but word gets back to the soul society and the kuchki household that ichigo has left his shinigami work to be with this human woman so they send byakuya to go and retrieve him but as he is about to approach his brother in law ichigo he sees that he is smiling and is actually happy around this woman.
