Disclaimer: Shaun of the Dead and all characters and plot points therein belong to Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright. Except the ones they borrowed from George Romero. I know that a few of the ladies will not be happy because Shaun is still with Liz. But just bear with me. I think it's a good story.
"Where the bloody hell is Liz," Shaun thought to himself. Nine months after the events of Z-Day, things had settled back down a bit.
Shaun was now an assistant manager at Foree Electronics. Liz had a job teaching English to children in primary school.
And unbeknownst to Shaun, he would become a father in a few more months. Shaun thought his life had become a slice of fried gold.
He repeated the question to himself as he checked around the flat. "She's not in the loo. She's not in the…" A horrible thought crossed his mind as he heard a scream from outside.
"Liz!" As fast as his feet could carry him, he ran downstairs and out into the garden. He saw Liz standing there with a frightened look on her face. She took a breath and calmed down.
"Shaun, is that Ed in the shed?" Shaun nodded. "Isn't he a…Zed?" Another nod. She couldn't be very mad at him. Ed was his best friend. It must have been hard to watch him go. After all, Shaun had to shoot his mum and other flatmate on Z-Day.
"Shaun, we need to talk." Ed seemed distracted by his video game but grunted occasionally. Liz shut the door and the two lovers walked back inside.
Plopped down on the couch, Shaun kissed Liz on the forehead. "Thanks, Shaun. Listen, we need to talk." A twinge of panic. "Um…ok…about anything in particular?" Liz sensed his fear and reassured him she wasn't leaving. "Besides, if I left, how would our child get to know how to spin?" Shaun didn't quite get it at first. "Yeah. Wait, what?"
Liz nodded and couldn't withhold her smile anymore. "Congratulations, Daddy." Shaun grabbed her and kissed her deeply.
