Cheers

The cool night sky was a dull purple. There was nothing special about. No twist in a dead river. Only silent tears of the weeping stars calling for their mother to brighten their world. The strumming of the lute gliding the blind woman along her path. She reached for the ground with her ancient crane and step after step, made it to the top of the hill. The flames below her of an alive village celebrating in festive ceremonies was almost all she heard. She propped her bum on a boulder and listened to her son's melodic tunes. She listened and soon all she heard was that of the out of tune lute. It guided her to sleep and there on the boulder, she meditated unmoved and calm until the Sun made the flames behind her lids burn alive. The woman held up her nose and sensed the slow cooking of fresh fish. Her son moved her down and placed the meal before her. She eat hesitantly and rested her head on the rock.

Her son was small. That was all she knew. But, the feel of his face didn't indicated he was ugly though. She had lost her sight and husband all before she found that she had a maternal glow to her pale skin. Her hair was still that maroon he fell in love with. Her husband she means.

She wished she knew who her son took up after. Did he have his father's radiant envy-of-the-Sun yellow or her dull crimson hair? Maybe it was both. Kushina didn't know but, she was curious. For fourteen years she has been with child and is still with child yet, she doesn't even know the bloody color of his blasted hair!

Being blind was frustrating. But, she'll deal. Her son was a mute; the dad was deaf and, the mum was blind. Now that was absolutely smashing, Kushina thought sarcastically.

If we had been in a room together, we'd look like a couple of stupid monkeys!

Being blind was aggravating. But, she had to deal. What example was she setting for Naruto? He was so dreadfully dumb. He didn't ever make a sound and he wasn't trying any time soon. That was just the way he was. Naruto was hard to motivate, stubborn and clumsy. He made up for it by being sweet and charming. Still, no escaping those blemishes though.

The reason she brought him here was because of the illness that she has had since her marriage with Minato. He caught the sickness while traveling and it soon took his life. She knew it would take hers as well and Naruto's, in fact, if she didn't do something that would probably make her son's heart break.

She was going to have and give him away. To the Uchihas of all people. Maybe that mother had some decency but, Fuugaku was another story. She heard they had kids so they could be even worse than him. She'd pray to anyone as long as her son never followed Fuugaku in personality.

But, she heard not a single struggle from her son when the escort came for him. He was dignified like all Namikazes and Uzumakis before him.

"I love you, Mother." He had finally said with a whisper. He knew Kushina would hear it even when the escort did not.

Kushina could feel his hand to her tear-stained cheek and his warm lips press to kiss his mother one last time. Kushina was beyond happy and Naruto left her that way.

Kushina could die joyful now and after a year, she did just that. Under the stars and misty clouds, she died happy.
