Dragoon North Eastern Continent
*GASP*
He sat up immediately, he was in a street surrounded by building with damage all over them. Some had holes in them, some have fire damage, bullet holes, or all three. Something came through the city and brought great destruction throughout, but there was a serious amount of overgrown plant life. So whatever happened, happened a long time ago. He got up and look around at the devastation of the city block. How he knew it was a city. Well, he just knew.
He looked over and saw a hummingbird perched on a stub of a tree. The bird flew with in only inches from his face.
"Hello." he said.
*Tweet!* The bird seemed happy.
The bird landed on his shoulder an rubbed its head against the boy's neck. He was perplexed by this action, but the bird seemed oddly familiar to him. The bird flew up and away a few feet, it turned around expectantly.
*Tweet!* The bird seemed to want him to follow it.
"Why not?" He thought as he went after it.
They went past multiple blocks, and he noticed something. Armored skeletons were everywhere, some had arrows in them, bullet holes all over them, daggers or swords, some were charred, pieces of armor was scattered in some places near craters. Whatever happened in this city, it was a complete massacre for the inhabitants. After a while the bird led him to what he assumed was the palace of the city. It was on top of a hill will a lot of stars leading up to it, the climb was exhausting, but he still wanted to see where the bird was leading him. When he reached the top the took a Glance around and manage to get a good look at the city below him, it was just an ocean of ruined buildings with a wall around it, said wall has massive openings in several places in it. It was just more evidence of something serious that happened at this place. He turned back to see the palace had large quartz pillars, and two ruined stone statues of a hummingbird and a crow situated on either side of the broken door. The ark way of the door had to be several feet high, the bottom half of the door was gone. Burn marks were on the lower part of the remaining half.
"What happened here? Why is this city destroyed? Who even did this?" He wondered as he entered the structure. One thing he noticed was the bodies, all facing the door, all were charred to the bone. It wasn't a palace like he assumed, it looked more like a temple. Beginning at either side of the door ark way, about three foot in width, were beds of flowers, small trees, vines, and various other small plant life. The beds went around all four walls of the temple, the only times it opened was for doorways. In the middle of the temple was a massive statue covered in moss. It took up a third of the space, the top half was blasted off and the rubble of it scattered throughout the temple floor. An opening in the roof over it said it was caused by something that blasted through the ceiling.
*Tweet!* The hummingbird grabbed his attention yet again. He resumed following the bird, which took him around the statue and to a stone door on the back wall of the temple. He stopped a few feet away from it and the bird went into a square, clearly intentionally made, whole just over the door. A moment later the door opened up and the bird was hovering there.
*Tweet.* It flew over to a switch on the wall and pecked at it. He walked over and turned it, a moment later torches lit up and the room was illuminated in light. In the middle was a suit of armor, a sword in a metal sheath on the rack next to it, and a shotgun with spare magazines of ammunition there to. The bird flew over and perched itself on top of the armor stand's bare head.
*Tweet!* The bird said excitedly.
"You want me to put that on?" He asked.
*Tweet.* The bird replied.
"Hm, ok. Why not?" He walked over and put on the armor. It was a pure white chest plate covering a good portion of his upper abdomen trimmed with gold lining and similarly colored bracers with black gloves with gold-colored metal armor plates over his fingers. He picked up the shotgun, it had a sawed off barrel and had no butt stock. He clipped it to a holster on the back of the chest plate. He grabbed the sword and noticed a weird clip on the sheath and on his left bracer was a place that looked like it would fit. He attached it to his bracer and the sheath opened up to reveal it was also a shield. He unclipped it and attached it to his left hip. He then looked back to the bird.
"Thanks for the armor little guy. What's your name?" He asked.
*Tweet.* The bird replied.
"Oh, well why don't I call you… Hum! How does Hum sound?" He asked with a smile.
*Tweet.* The bird said.
"Well Hum it is. My name is… my name… what is my name?" He stared off to the side wondering.
*Tweet?* Hum said confused.
"Wlep, I picked your name so I guess it's only fair you pick mine." He said.
*...Tweet?* Hum gave a seriously confused chirp.
"Well, you need to pick my name now Hum." He answered, unaware of Hun's confusion.
*...Tweet!* Hum flew out of the room and he jogged after him. Hum flew over to the base of the statue and began pecking at the mose there. He was perplexed by this action until he notice Hum was writing something.
"Jaune? You want me to call myself Jaune?" He asked Hum.
*Tweet!* Hum replied.
"Ok! Jaune it is." Jaune said.
Hum flew over and pecked Jaune's sheath then Jaune's bracer. It took Jaune a bit, but he realized Hum wanted Jaune to put on his shield and he did.
*Tweet.* Hum peck the shield.
"Jaune... Shield?" Jaune asked.
"Tweet." Hum pecked again.
"Jaune... sheath." Jaune asked.
*Peck*
"Jaune… Moon."
*Peck*
"Jaune Gold?"
*Peck*
"Jaune Arc?"
*Tweet!* Hum said happily.
Jaune put away his shield. "Well Jaune Arc it is. So do you know of a town we could go to?" Jaune inquired.
*Tweet* Hum led Jaune out of the temple.
Menagerie City of Sienna
Blake Belladonna lived in the capital all her life, except now she was currently on a pilgrimage around the Island of Menagerie visiting the temples all over the kingdom, she had been to Sienna's, the Goddess of the Faunus, and Perry the Faunus God of Wisdom and fate. It was tradition for every crown ruler of Menagerie to take offerings to each of the Faunus Gods when they were eighteen, so that they may receive the blessings and advice of each God. For Sienna it was jewelry, didn't matter how shiney or expensive it was just that it had to be completely new each time, for Perry he had Blake listen to his tale, it was longer each time he told it. She was now at her mother's temple, Kali the Goddess of love and lust, Blake had the offering ready to go.
"So, your mother is going to give you advice?" Sun, asked.
"Yes Sun, the woman one has raised me is going to give me advice she hasn't already told me." Blake said with sarcasm. "It's just tradition to give all four gods a gift. " Blake responded, she felt really bad about this. She asked Sun to come along with her and her bodyguards under the gist of this being a trip she wanted her childhood friend to be apart of, that was only partially true.
"Stay here, me and Sun will enter alone." Blake waved off to her guards as she and Sun went up the stairs.
"So are you sure they'll be fine with me in there? I don't wanna intrude." Sun asked and Blake shook her head.
"I've already asked they'll be fine with it." Blake assured.
"So how long has it been since a man was allowed into your mother's temple grounds?" Sun asked.
"My dad of course Sun, he was the last man to be allowed in and you'll be the on the reset the clock this time." Sun was a strong follower of Kali, he followed all of her rules to the letter, but it surprised Blake when she learned how he knew nothing about the offering. They were greeted by the high priestess and her aid at the temple entrance, both of course were wearing quite revealing outfits just like the rest of the clergy and female fanatics.
The high priestess stepped forward. "Princess Blake, it's good to see you. Your most beautiful mother awaits her offering."
"Lets not keep her waiting then." Blake said as they entered the temple.
"Um, Sun you need to go in there." Blake pointed to a pair of red curtains.
"Huh, why?" Sun asked.
"Men need to go through a process of cleaning before going in deeper. It's just a quick wash." Blake said.
"Oh, well ok. Don't wait on my account Blake." Sun said before heading over.
"He really has no idea does he?" The high priestess whispered.
"*Sigh* No, he has a strong believe in Kali, he doesn't self pleasure, he avoids fantasizing, and is saving himself for marriage. Hasn't so much as kissed a girl. He also know absolutely nothing about what offering she accepts." Blake explained.
Sun came out thirty minutes later in a white robe, he would have nothing else.
"Huh, you held everything up just to wait for me." Sun said surprised.
"Believe me I can't complete this pilgrimage without you." Blake said truthfully.
Sun smiled at her honest tone. "Thanks Blake, I'm glad I can help."
They walked over to the Goddess's personal chamber and Blake opened the door.
"After you." She gestured to Sun.
"*Chuckle* Blake no time for jokes, I know for a fact I'm not allowed in there." Sun crossed his arms with a smile.
"*Sigh* Look just know I'm sorry and I hope we can still be friends after this." Blake said.
"What do you-." Sun didn't finish as he was pushed in, Blake closed the door and wegged Gambol Shroud in between the door handles. She had now been to three temples and given three gifts with a silent apology to Sun, he really wanted to save himself for marriage.
Sun was now inside the inner chamber of his Goddess. It was a lovely looking room, a canopy bed with the curitions tucked in, nice scented candles were placed around the room and the lights dimmed, some wine was placed on a small table next to the bed. For Sun being in the temple of his Goddess was a dream come true, but this was inside and then some!
*Knock*
*Knock*
*Knock*
"Blake! Come on open the door! This seriously isn't funny!" Sun cried out.
"Mm." A voice was heard behind him. Sun turned around and saw kali sitting up in bed, she had just finished stretching and looked over at Sun standing her eyes then widen and ears stood up straight with surprise.
"Sun?" Kali had recognize Blake's closes and frankly only friend in the offering room.
"Well, he is a virgin. This could definitely be fine, never thought Sun would be willing, then again he's always willing to help Blake." The divine goddess thought.
Sun regained himself and bowed on his hands and knees before her.
"My Goddess Kali, I'm terrible sorry for disrupting your slumber, please go back to resting I'll leave like I was never here." Sun said.
"*Chuckle* Ever the gentleman. Stand up, no need for such formalities right now." Kali commanded and Sun obeyed. Kali walked over to Sun, swaying her hips all the way there. Sun was trying not to look at Kali's outfit, it was exactly the same thing she wore in the Belladonna household, but it was designed with the intention of drawing eyes to her figure. Sun backed up until he pressed up against the door and Kali was a hair breath away from his lips.
"Relax, you're here to serve me?" Kali asked.
"Y-Yes?" Sun said.
"Good now relax, we will be here awhile.~" She went in for a kiss.
"Hey I said I was sorry." Blake and Sun were sitting at a cafe, he needed some serious hydration.
Blake insisted on talking. "Come on it couldn't have been that bad." Sun just took a sip of water.
"Ok, I really deserve the silent treatment, but I needed to bring an offering. It's tradition and your were the only virgin I could find on hand."
"... *Sigh* You know Blake? I am seriously mad right now, but I think the wonderful time I spend with your mother has already persuaded me." Sun finished his water.
Blake looked hopeful. "So?"
"We are still friends, and I can find it in me to forgive you." Sun said with a smile.
"Good… so how was it? With my mother I mean?" Blake curiously asked.
"Blake, no words from any language in existence can even describe what she did to me! In the hours we spent there I must have released at least a hundred times! She's got some serious stamina and it wasn't until I tried her 'back door', at which point she finally-!"
"Ok! That's enough, Sun. I get it! It was amazing, you had fun and she displayed the lust part of her Goddess title on full display to you!" Blake said waving her hands in front of her.
Sun grinned evilly. "Hey you asked! You wanted to know how smooth and rigid her body was, completely clear of any flaws. How dreamy her eyes were as she looked up at me, while her warm and inviting mouth worked wonders on me, her tongue lapped at my 'meat' hungrily, like she had been starved for days. You wanted to know how I slipped into her rear and how tight and moist her insides felt as I covered it with my-."
"AGH!" Blake jumped out of her seat and tackled Sun, bringing him and the table down. She clawed at his face and he desperately attempted to push her off. It wasn't until Blake's guards intervened and pulled Blake off him did she stop.
"You just kept pushing Wukong!" Blake hissed.
"Pushing for you, thrusting for your mother." Sun muttered.
"What. Was. That." Blake said slowly.
"I'm sorry and won't speak of it again." Sun said rubbing the back of his neck.
"Good." Blake looked around at everyone was watching them with various degrees of shock and arousal.
"Check please!" One of the guards asked.
They soon set out to there next destination, fortunately it was in the same city unlike the first two.
"So the temple of Balderdash is all that remains." Blake said.
"*Chuckle* That name will never not be funny." Sun remarked.
Blake shook her head at this, but Sun was right. "Ok, well for him all we need to do is-."
"I now who he is Blake, Faunus God of war, anger, and ambition. He's never really around, but tends to leave his sword behind and all he wants is someone one to clean his gun sheath and sharpen his khatana." Sun said correctly.
"How do you know that?" Blake asked surprised because Sun didn't know anything about the other gods offerings, so why would he know this one's.
"Um, Blake I kinda need to know who he is." Sun said spreading his arms out and giving Blake a look like should already know this.
"Um, no?"
Sun raised an eyebrow. "Didn't I told you how my entire family is banish from entering his temple?"
Blake stepped in front of him. "What? No you've never told me that!"
"Huh, could've sworn I did? Well you see Blake at one point over three hundred years ago, during the fall of Demons, my ancestor was a part of his following."
"What did he do to make a god angry?" Blake asked.
"SHE, was apart of his army. One day over in Vacuo the four remaining demons there were harassing the local kingdoms. When Adam went to deal with them, because he called dips, he got his butt totally kicked to sunday." Sun explained.
"A God of war was defeated in battle?" Blake's expression was filled with nothing but surprise, a god of war wasn't called that for show.
"It was embarrassing for him, but before the demons were able to kill him. My ancestor rushed in and single handedly defeated all four demons and saved her god!" Sun placed his hands to his sides and stood up as straight as he could.
"*Chuckle* Really? A god of war was saved by a mortal? You're sure she wasn't a demigoddess?" Blake asked picturing what such and event would be like.
Sun laughed at that. "Nope! After that she became a celebrity overnight. She wasn't the first non demigod to kill a demon, but she was the first and so far only mortal to save a god of war from demons. She was visited by almost all the gods who congratulated her, even death herself came. A mural in the Grand Temple of Remnant was made in her honor, the first and not the last non demigod to get one."
"If she was so popular why is your family forbidden from entering?"
Sun's happy demeanor died in an instant. "Well… his pride was ruined. He told her that it would have been better if he just died and rebirthed. So he cast her out and attempted to banish her whole family from Managurie, but your mother intervene and we got to stay here."
"Wow. How come I've never heard about this story?"
"It's three hundred years old Blake, a lot of heroic actions have taken place since then."
"Ah… so I guess I'll so you later today then?" Blake asked.
"Yeah, I cannot enter his temple district of the city. Bye Blake." Sun waved and walked back home.
"Good bye." Blake waved back.
Blake entered the inner sanctum of the temple. The room was small with a chair above four stairs, it was easy to tell it was to show superiority. Something was wrong, the stand that her father said would hold the crimson Khatana and shotgun sheath wasn't there.
"Did he forget? Or did he take it away before I got here?" Blake walked forward and looked around for anything. The door to the sanctum opened and a figure walked in.
"Ah, your the new Princess?" Adam the Faunus God of war, anger, and ambition asked.
Blake bowed. "Yes, I'm here to clean your sword."
"My apologies, I didn't know you were coming until just now. I've already cleaned and sharpened it today." Adam explained.
"Oh, well is there something else I can do for you?" Blake asked.
"You can get up for one. Bowing is unnecessary." He commanded and Blake obeyed. He walked over to he and studying her features.
"Your a mortal born from Kali, yes?" Adam inquired.
"I am."
He smiled. "The resemblance is striking. If I didn't know any better I'd say your her just in a youthful body."
"*Giggiles* Thank you God Taurus."
"Please, call me Adam. I insist."
"Very well. Adam."
Adam keeping his smile, crossed his arms and walked around her studying her features. "Your the future ruler of the Menagerie, tell me what do think about war? You may be honest."
Blake stood up straight. "War is something a good leader should never seek out but must always be prepared to face head on for their people."
"Wise words, and I know you received those words from Perry." Adam guessed correctly.
"Oh you heard that one before." Blake looked down and her ears drooped. Adam brought his right hand up and cupped Blake's cheek moving her head so that their eyes met.
"Every leader of Menagerie has said those exact words to me, and each of them turned into great leaders. You shouldn't feel ashamed about repeating wisdom. If anything it only makes it better for so many have followed it."
Blake smiled and her ears perked back up. "Thank you Adam, I appreciate it.
"Your outfit it… well the white trench coat covers you, but in really draws the eyes to your midriff, and your pants are extremely skin tight." Adam said hand still cupping Blake's cheek.
"Well when your mother is the Goddess of Lust the only clothes she really deems as acceptable is this. The trench coat was from my dad."
*Chuckle* Adam shifted his had to the back of Blake's head and pulled her in, he then placed his left had on her hip.
"You are just a paragon of beauty it feels like a sin to glance on your face.~" Adam was seriously in Blake's comfort zone.
"Um, I think I need to go." Blake tried to push away but Adam held onto her with an Iron grip.
"What's the rush? I now how you can help me." Adam was getting really close.
Blake whimpered. "I-I need an adult!"
"Blake, you are officially an adult." Adam grinned leaning in.
Blake thought fast and drove her knee into Adam's crotch.
"Agh!" He cried out and loosened his grip.
Blake took full advantage and shoved him away and ran out of the temple as fast as she could. As Adam regained himself.
"Mm, a fighter."
City of Atlas
Grimm. They stayed mostly to their borders. Mostly. Their creator, their Goddess was always described as being cruel, sadistic, a being made of pure evil that killed just for the fun of it. The Goddess of Grimm, Disease, Famine, and the Mind and he was marked by her. He met her in a dream, or nightmare as one should call it. He ran in the darkness with a monster chasing him, until he manage to summon up the will to kill it. She said nothing to him. Instead she touched his cheek and placed a mark her it, and when he woke sure enough it was there. A black symbol of an eye emblazon on his right cheek. He went to every priest of the church and all they could definitively say said was that Neptune Vasilias was her property now. She had infested his dreams since then, toying with him. She is a Goddess of the Mind and of course had an unlimited range of abilities in the human mind, yet she just treated it as some sick game of cat and mouse. She almost caught him a few times too. Neptune couldn't sleep, every time he did the whole thing would start, last time she caught him with ease and was about to take him away if wasn't for something waking him up in the nick of time. He later found refuge in Death's temple, it was the first time he ever got a full night's sleep in the last year. Neptune needed to do something about this, he needed guidance and death was the only god worshiped in all of the continent of Mantle, unless he wanted to visit the abandoned cult of the Grimm temple and just gift wrap himself to his tormentor. He bought the best cookies he could buy, the most ripe strawberries in the market, and the freshest milk he found. All of these were needed as an offering to death, it was strange but it was sure as hell cheaper than most gods! He walked to the altar, there was beds of various roses along either wall and Neptune saw the painted glass as they depicted scenes involving death. The first Summer maiden had given birth to death and ironically had been the first to be reaped by Death. Death smiting those who committed demon summoning, she didn't strike them with fire, ice, or thunder, she didn't bring an army of followers. Death merely went on a walk. He eventually made it to the altar, above it was a rough sketch of what Death looked like, a young figure with a thick red cloak obscuring her features from view and a red scythe being held behind her. Neptune placed the offering on the altar and got on his hands and knees.
"All mighty death, most honored Goddess, reaper of souls and keeper of the afterlives. Please hear my plea for aid." Neptune begged.
One minute passed.
Two minutes passed.
Then three then four.
Five and six.
Seven and eight.
Nine.
And finally ten.
Neptune knew this would happened. His entire family lineage was cursed with bad luck. It was a serious long shot that death would actually respond to his plea.
*Munch*
*Munch*
Neptune looked up and saw a little girl sitting on the altar dipping and eating the cookies.
"Hey! Stop!" Neptune yelled as he stood up. She looked over at him before resume eating the cookies and even reached for a strawberry. Neptune grabbed her hand and made her turn to look at him.
"Little girl, this offering is one I am making for death! You cannot just come in her and eat it! You need to make and offering quickly before Death gets here and is angered by your blatant disrespect!" Neptune scolded she should have heard some stories on Death by now.
"These are for Death. Is that right?" She asked grinning.
"Yes! You'd better make an offering right now and beg for forgiveness before she gets her and claims your soul!" Neptune continue to cry out.
She maintained her smiled. "So your here to make and offering to death. It's good, but pretty lackluster all things considered." She said trying hard not to laugh.
"Who do you think you are." Neptune asked viciously.
She got off the altar. "*Chuckle* Well, my name is Ruby Rose. But..." She pulled something out from behind her back and it unfolded in to a red scythe and she slabbed the end of it into the ground. A deadly chill fell over the inner sanctum and all the room's light was consumed by darkness, Ruby's hood came back on and waved around as if wind was moving through it and her eyes glowed bright and silver like stars.
"You'd know me better as Death." Ruby said with a thunder in her voice.
Neptune fainted.
He woke propped up against the altar with death poking his cheek.
"Hey, sorry about that I didn't really mean to scare you like that heh heh." Death said embarrassed.
"I-Its quite alright most honored Goddess." Neptune quickly assured getting up and standing away to the prayer spot in front of the altar.
"So what do you need?" Death asked walking in front of him.
Neptune pulled down his face wrap revealing his mark to her.
"I have been a marked by the Goddess of Grimm, she has been invading my dreams at night and toying with me. Now she is straight out trying to capture me. I came here to find sanctuary and now I stand before you to seek your wisdom and aid." Neptune bowed and his tone got desperate. "I am begging you for aid."
"Stand up please." Death commanded and Neptune obey.
"I knew I sense something coming off of you. Ok, I will try to help in anyway possible and answer any and all questions to the best of my ability." Death said kindly.
"Thank you, you're most amazing Goddess of them all!" Neptune continued to flatter.
Death rolled her eyes and pretended like she hadn't heard that line said about a million times from mortals and demigods already.
"Ok, so what can you do?" Neptune asked.
"What do you want to do, hm?" Death asked.
"I want to stop seeing the Goddess of Grimm." Neptune stated.
Death made to respond, but she paused looked past him and glared.
Death scowled. "Then don't turn around."
Slowly Neptune did turn around and saw her. It was one thing to see her in a dream, but having her physically here was far more terrifying.
"Hello here." Goddess of Grimm, disease, famine, and mind, destroyer of life, bane of demigods, and the woman who marked Neptune.
Salem.
Ruby made a move to get in front of Neptune. Salem stood across some twenty feet at the curtain to the inner sanctum. She looked as if the cat ate the canary and faked the canary's will and now stood to inherit millions. So extremely condescending, which was here base emotion.
Ruby's voice boomed. "Salem, you are not welcome here." Salem wasn't welcome in her temple, or any Gods or Goddess temple in fact with the exception of the Cult of Destruction.
"Oh, I know I had to plow through a few of your followers to get here." Salem said slowly making her way towards them.
Ruby turned back to the terrified human behind her. "Just stay behind me and say nothing. You're going to be okay." She assured.
"No need to lie to him Ruby or is it your intention to deceive him?" Salem was about half way when Ruby equipped her scythe making her stop and frown.
"Is this anyway to treat family?" Salem said crossing her arms.
"We are not blood." Ruby said firmly.
"Your Uncle still fucked me." Salem deadpanned.
"I'll still make you leave." Ruby's eyes hardened.
"Fine I will leave. After I take what's mine." Salem then grew to several feet and reached out to grab Neptune.
A wave of silver energy blasted from Ruby's eyes and Salem drew back to shield her own.
"Agh! You clearly don't understand what marking a mortal means!" Salem cried out.
"Of course I know what it means, but I also know he came in here for safety and I will provide it." Ruby's eyes, though dimmer, was nothing but silver, and even seemed to leak a similarly colored mist, ready to strike again if Salem dare come closer.
"Brat." Salem went back to her original size.
"You can't keep him here forever. He can only stay for so long and when he leaves he will be mine." Black smoke rose up and she disappeared.
"Yup still just as terrifying." Neptune thought.
Death rammed the end of her scythe into the ground and twisted it to the side. A chunk of the stone floor, which Death pick up and crushed it in her pam. Death turned over and presented a Neptune with a stone circle with a rose embedded in it.
"This will mask your presents from Salem. It along won't be enough so I suggest you keep on the move until she loses interest." Death instructed.
"Can't you remove the mark?" Neptune asked hopefully.
"No I cannot. Salem has marked you and her followers and Grimm will attempt to acquire you until she either loses interest, your captured, or you die. Which won't be for some time by the way." Death said.
"*Sigh* Well thank you honored goddess for your aid and protection. If-."
"You don't owe me anything and never will, now get going mortal! Be safe in your travels."
Vacuo City of Blades
"Your time has come, For 300 years, I prepared. I grew stronger. While you rested with your brother's cradle of power, believing your people were safe and protected. You were trusted to lead them…" A Shuttle travels toward the Temple of Raven the human Goddess of Fate. At the same time, a black-cloaked figure and her brown skinned escort, move up the steps of the temple where they are met by several members of the Bradwen security force. They surrounded the two, but the cloaked figure summons two blades made of glass and quickly dispatches the guards with a series of quick slashes and waves of fire. "But you have deceived yourself, as your visions of the future have blinded you from seeing reality..."
Atop the main entryway, a crouched grey haired man, takes his signal from the green haired escort and infiltrates an upper level of the temple using his gun boots to launch himself up. He proceeds to kill several more guards with said boots, before checking a holographic display on his gauntlet, monitoring the progress of the incoming shuttle.
Casually striding into the Temple, the cloaked woman and the revolver using escort are met with well over a dozen warrior priest, including Raven herself, who draw their cleavers and katanas surrounding the pair. Over a railing on either side more BSF take aim with their rifles. "You fortolded, no force could dare challenge you…" Raven walks up to the cloak female, but before she could demand who they are the their purpose. The shuttle, as planned, violently crashes through the Temple entrance, smashing through old stone columns and bringing them down with the BSF before finally coming to rest a short distance behind the cloaked woman and her red eyed escort. "and now…" The shuttle's boarding ramp lowers, revealing another cloaked figure who proceeds to ignite a longsword in fire, taking a few steps forward the darkness behind him is illuminated by the activation of over twenty more blades, the shuttle was filled with heavily armored men and women. Raven recognized the symbol on their helmets, it was the cult of destruction. "Finally we have returned." The cloaked woman raises her left hand revealing it to be a Grimm one and she unties the cloak letting it fall to the ground revailing a red dress with yellow designs all over it and hair that seemed to burn like fire at its tips. She smirks her left eye glows red revealing it also to be of Grimm origin.
"Hello Raven, it's been far too long." Cinder Fall, the Goddess of destruction, the bane of life, and only daughter of Salem said in a condescending tone before summoning two glass swords.
"Charge!" Cultist began pouring out from the shuttle, charging the warrior priest in a battle that quickly overtakes the Temple's entrance hall, as Emerald fires from her mistress side before being instructed to begin her task. Mercury moves through the Temple with her, mowing down BSF guards attempting to assist, with high explosive grenades and a wrist mounted flamethrower. Cults also fire assault rifles or melt people with flamethrowers.
Raven slashes a squad of cultist in half along with a stone column. "Raven!" She looks over to Vernal who gestures to Cinder as she elegantly cuts down numerous priests and BSF with her blades, striking at others with streams of fire, and simply lifting and throwing another with her bare hand. Shortly after the Goddess crushes the floor around her, sending waves of fire around her to either engulfing all those around her or flinging them away. Raven narrows her eyes and rushes to attack Cinder directly. Meanwhile, Cinder manhandles rubble into some nearby BSF just before Raven meets her. The two then clash in a duel through the chaotic battle still being waged around them. When Raven leans backward to avoid a deadly high swing, Cinder kicks her several feet back through the air, Raven takes the ever so brief intermission from their duel to strike down two advancing Cultist. Cinder throws one of her blades, which Raven leaps over, only to be struck by a fire ball from Cinder's now free hand. It launches her through a piece of the collapsed rubble. Cinder summons a new blade back to her hand while leaping over the debris, attempting to impale Raven as she lies on the ground. The Goddess of Fate, however, recovers quickly from the impact and manages to avoid the lethal blow by jumping clear. Raven strikes back at Cinder with a vicious series of fast paced strikes, stunning the destruction Goddess with a elbow to the face. When Raven's next swing misses she attempts to spin and gather momentum for another strike, but Cinder rushes in and implies Raven through the chest with her Grimm arm, it coming out the other side with Raven's heart in hand.
Cinder pulls her in with smile. "You have deceived yourself Raven. And now, your pathetic empire shall fall." Cinder mocks as she pulls her hand out and drops the heart at her feet.
Defeated, Raven falls to her knees as Cinder turns away disintegrating her blade. Emerald and Mercury at that moment come jogging outside the temple to meet her.
"Mistress. I have completed my task." Emerald presents Cinder with a trigger, which she happily accepts and presses. The support beams of the temple are blown away and the structure begins the crumble down.
In her final moments, the Raven stares out at the burning Cityscape as three heavy airships fly overhead bombarding the city with incendiary rounds from every gun port. A shuttle lands to pick Cinder and her disciples. Raven pitches forward onto the ground as the dive bombers unleash their pay loads in the temple district, pillars of thick smoke rising into the air. Cinder's shuttle leaves as the temple as spires and statues collapse and the temple is engulfed in flames.
"Qrow was right, I was in over my head." Raven thought as life finally left her body.
Ok so just to establish aura isn't a thing, everyone is just proficient at blocking incoming bullets or taking cover.
