ON THE PLANE RIDE TO PARIS

"Salut," the flight attendant said to my friends and I. We were all on a separate plane then everyone else 'cuz there were so many of us! Good thing I've known French all my life!

"Salut," I said to her as well. (Salut means hi)

"U ont-ils besoin de n'importe quoi pour boire? (Do u need anything to drink?)" she asked me. From her name tag I could see her name was Carolyn.

"Oui s'il vous plaît, Carolyn," I replied. (Yes please, Carolyn) "Je voudrais un Poivre de Dr, s'il vous plait," (I would like a Dr. Pepper, please)

"J'y aurai raison," came her response. (I'll get right on it) I smiled as she walked away.

Alex looked at me as if I had lost my tongue.

"It's French," I said with a smile.

She quickly returned it. "I can See that much," and started to laugh.

"Hey, Mikki?" Malisha called me from my nickname.

"Yes?" I asked.

"¿Puede usted entender qué digo?" Malisha asked in Spanish. (Can you understand what I am saying?)

"Sí, puedo," I said as I smiled at her. (Yes, I can)

She stuck her tongue out and turned around. I couldn't help but grin, all my friends have been testing me with languages. Since I can remember my father has taught me every word known to mankind; German; French; Spanish; English; Italian; Portuguese and Russian.

"I keep telling you guys I know languages," I said with a giggle.

"Can you say that in every language you know?" My guy friend Bryan asked with that wide smile that reaches the tips of his eyes.

I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Sigo diciéndole tipos sé lenguas, that's Spanish. Je continue à vous dire des gars je sais des langues, that's French. Ich setze fort, Ihnen Kerle zu erzählen, ich weiß Sprachen, that's German. Io continuo a dire voi ragazzi io so le lingue, that's Italian. Continuo dizendo-lhe tipos sei línguas, that's Portuguese. Я продолжаю говорить Вам парней, я знаю языки, and that's Russian. Happy?" I asked after completing the task.

Bryan looked amazed. "Very."

Everyone broke out in laughter.
