"Darling. Darling, wake up. It's already nine in the morning. Your breakfast is going to get cold."
His eyelids fluttered slightly at the jolt of his beloved shaking him slightly on the shoulders. With a kiss on the cheek, he groggily woke up from the dreamless sleep. Standing in front of him, a gentle smile carved upon her lips as she kissed again, this time on the forehead.
"Morning, sleeping beauty. Hop off the bed, I'm going to reheat your food."
Before she could turn around and leave, Tsurumaru pulled her by the arm and have her flopped on the bed. Their faces were now inches from each other, although flipped, and so he pecked her lips and readjusted himself so that he was on top of her. The figure below him blushed and was bewildered about the situation she was in.
"Tsurumaru, y-your food... I need to-"
She could not finish her sentence as she was cut off with another kiss from the mischievous prankster. Though, the kiss was gentle and full of longing; even with all the lovemaking last night, it was not enough for him to show her how much he loved her. When he felt her arms wrapped around his slender figure, it spurred him on and he started to trail kisses from her lips to her neck. His ministrations caused her to giggle and pushed him away.
"Stop that, it tickles."
The sound of her heavenly voice turned the lust he earlier had for her turned into a playful banter. He wanted to hear more of that wonderful voice that saved him more than he could ever count. So, he trailed down further south and lifted up her shirt. The little moan she made was sensual in a way, but his only goal now was to hear her laugh. It was cute, the way she looked at him as if she was anticipating something. But the instant he blew her a raspberry kiss, she laughed and hit his head. He could not hold back the happiness he felt seeing her happy like this, so he chuckled along.
"Tsuru, you dork. Now you've just ruined the mood."
The way her eyes locked onto him has made him the happiest man alive. it was little moments like this that made life tolerable. As long as she stayed by his side, everything that life would want to throw at him would be tolerable. Tsurumaru leant close and whispered in her ear:
"I-"
"Tsurumaru! Wake up! You're going to the front line in ten minutes! Tsurumaru!"
The ringing noise close to his ear was enough for him to jolt awake from his dream. The dream he had was so vivid that he immediately become depressed as he saw Taikogane's grin. He sighed and pulled himself away from the warmth of the covers. Even with Taikogane's early morning ramblings, he tried his best to listen to him, but the grogginess overpowered him still. He dragged himself to the dresser and dressed for work.
As he was on his way to the place where the other members of the party gathered, he heard a soft pitty patter of someone's feet and his heart raced. He knew from the faint perfume scent the person had on that it was his beloved sage. She passed him by and smiled as she made her way to the place where he was headed. They merrily talked about the festival they about to have in three days' time. From the looks of it, she was excited about her first inauguration celebration. And the smile that she had on was one of the things he wanted to go home to even if he was on the verge of being broken. But at least until that time comes, he wants to stay with her as long as he could, even when he could not call her his.
