That day started out perfectly normal, I hardly even remember it. My name is Caitlin. I used to love to read the Harry Potter books, now I can't read them, just see them...
"Come on, Cait, you have to come out of your room sometime!" A voice shouted outside of my bed room. It was most likely Rafe, trying to convince to come to the movies again. I was sick of everything. I had been cut from the basketball team, failed English, kissed a guy and gotten caught, and now I was pissed at the world.
My shirt was soaked with salty tears, and my vision was blurry as I opened up my eyes enough to see not Rafe, but his twin, Jason, enter the room.
"Go away!" I shouted, and I resisted the urge to throw something at him. I was done, I was done with my sucky life, my stupid so-called friends, and my uncaring parents. All they ever thought about was my older sister, and I was just the rat in the corner. They were gone right now, off to another one of her plays for her stupid drama club.
I sobbed in frustration and felt Jason's strong arms rap around me. I let my head rest on his shoulders as I continued to let tears cascade down my face. He was almost crying with me, I guess he hated to see me so upset.
"Jason." I said in a scratchy voice, and he released me and looked into my eyes, "I can't live like this anymore, I can't do it anymore." I whispered, my black hair sweeping in my face and making my vision more blurry then it already was.
"It'll be ok, let's go downstairs, I'll cook something to eat, and if you want, I'll finally read one of those Harry Potter books you have been wanting me to read." He said soothingly, and without waiting for an answer, he swopped me up in his arms, grabbed a Harry Potter book, and had started the stairs. I could barely see, and though I felt better, tears still rolled like loose rocks down my face.
I love Jason. He is such a sweetheart, and I regret never having the courage to ask him out. "Hey J.?" I whispered, and he cocked his head to indicate for me to go on. "You think, maybe, you would want to stay here for the night? My parents won't be home for a couple days, and I could use some company." I said, louder then I intended.
"Sure, I would love to." He said, and his voice revealed excitement, and if I am not mistaken, I think I saw a twinkle in his eyes, though it left so quickly I couldn't be sure. He set me down on a couch and sat down by my feet. He still held the book in his hands, and knowing how much I loved the Harry Potter books, he started reading it aloud. I could tell immediately that it was the sixth book, and I laughed at the look on his face of some of the things my favorite author had come up with.
Then, something quite strange happened. The book seemed to float from Jason's hands, a bright light seem to emit from the center of it. I closed my eyes against the intensity of the light, and Jason's arms once more enveloped me. The last thing I felt was water, and freezing it was, before I lost myself to the black void that surrounded me.
Ok, I know its short, but this is just a prologue, enjoy and review!!!
