Hey there! Welcome to a dialogue between Finnick and Johanna. (Feat. Haymitch!) I don't know if I'm going to add another chapter yet… Bleh. I hope you enjoy it!
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Finnick asked, smoothing his hair with his fingers. He glanced at his friend Johanna, who looked aggravated, as usual.
She scowls. "Of course I want to do this." She leans against the dining room table on floor seven. There was only a week left until she had to go into games. Again. "Shouldn't we be more discreet with this?" She asks.
"We're just waiting for Haymitch to show up. He has to get out of the apartment without Katniss and Peeta becoming suspisious. Once he gets here, we'll go somewhere more secretive."
Johanna nods. "So you're saying that by keeping those two alive, a whole rebellion will spark?" She raises her eyebrows.
Finnick sighs. "She gives them hope. If a nobody from twelve can get the Capitol to have two winners instead of one, that gets the districts thinking."
She chuckles. "I can imagine. He-" She is abruptly cut off by Haymitch when he enters the room. He holds something up, dangling it as far away from his face as he could as if it would reach out and bite him. Johanna recognized it almost immediately - her tree costume.
Haymitch lays it out on the table in from of her. He looked unusually mad. "This is how you make a first impression on them?" He scolds, pointing at the outfit. "It was going to be hard enough to get them to trust you in the first place!"
She rolls her eyes. "Did you take a shot before this? Besides, Finnick asked her to share her secre-"
The old man covered her mouth with his hand. "At least Finnick didn't strip in front of them!" In the background, she could hear Finnick laughing. She pulls the man's hand off her mouth.
"Oh, I'm sure Katniss would've just loved to see Finnick strip, just like all the Capital ladies do," she blurts out, instantly regretting it. Finnick's laughing stopped in the background. It was silent for a moment, until he was right behind Johanna.
"What did you say?" Johanna turned around to face him hesitantly.
She felt like a little girl when her father used to get angry at her. "You heard me, Odair," she says, sounding more confident then she feels. "You know, I don't think you're worthing doing that, Finnick. You can't keep doing what you're doing and act like nothing's happening around Annie. Believe me Finnick, she knows.
Finnick grits his teeth. "I do it to keep her safe. Safe and alive, for that matter."
"Do you? Who do you spend more time with? Which one is really controlling and taking over your life?" Johanna spits, not meeting his gaze. "Do you love her enough to actually do that for her?"
"All of this is worth keeping her. Plus, we'll get extra sponsors in the arena." Finnick eyes Johanna. She knew what he was doing. He was trying to change the subject. She hated getting in arguments with him, but she knew that conversation was inevitable. And they hadn't even finished it…
Haymitch interrupted her thoughts. He seemed hesitant. "So… the plan?"
