Gwen and her boyfriend, Duncan were standing at the subway station, about to get on a train as several flyers blew in the wind.
One of them got stuck on Duncan's back and Gwen looked at it.

Gwen's eyes widened as she took the flyer off of Duncan.
"Hey Duncan, look at this singing competition."
As she looked at it, she forgot to get on the train and Duncan looked out the window. Gwen waved the flyer in her hand as she watched the train leave.
"I was thinking of writing my own song for it," Gwen told him later at their apartment.
Duncan closed his guitar case.
"Gwen."
She looked up from the flyer.
"Just stick to the back-up vocals."
Gwen was singing into the microphone, but Duncan frowned and pushed her aside and started singing, causing her to frown sadly.
Meet Gwen
"Welcome to the show," Don told Gwen.
Gwen's shocked face quickly turned into a small smile as Duncan chuckled.
"Ha, cool."
"No no, I just want her, not you," Don walked off, writing something on his clipboard.
"What?!," both rockers asked in unison.
"I'll only be doing it for us," Gwen told Duncan that night in their apartment.
Beyond Heartbreak
One night, Gwen came home from rehearsal, exhausted. But when she walked into the living room, her eyes widened and her jaw dropped.
Duncan was playing music with another girl. And their lips were just inches away from touching.
"What is going on here?!"
They both stopped immediately and looked towards Gwen with shocked expressions.
She threw Duncan's guitar case at his feet, making him fall over.
She shut the front door and leaned against it, breathing heavily. Finally, she slid down to the floor and sighed.
Is A New Beginning
Gwen looked inside a small restaurant and saw Duncan and his new girlfriend, Taylor playing music onstage. They had this look in their eyes as they stared at each other.
Love.
Gwen looked on, heartbroken as she placed her hand on the window.
Carrie comforted Gwen as she blew her nose.
"You are way better off without that, that..."
Jacques walked up to them with his arms crossed.
"That total super jerk tricheur!"
"Exactly."
"Ok, can we see Gwen?"
Gwen grabbed her guitar and walked onstage.
She put on Taylor's heart sunglasses and started stomping her foot on the stage.
"You can do this."
The crowd started clapping, giving her a beat.
She played a loud riff on her guitar.

"She's not even that good."
Duncan scoffed.
"Yeah, yeah, totally."
But once Taylor left the room, Duncan grabbed the remote and turned the TV back on.
