This fic is Peter/Susan. If you don't this pairing, please don't flame. I in no way support incestual relationships, so you'd be only wasting your time.

"Don't leave."
Her words were quick, desperate.
"I love you."
Sometimes it upsets me to think that we have been reduced to this, we who were once royalty. Those words used to make me smile. Now, they are like knives, gleaming in the dim light of the bomb shelter as we huddle for warmth.
"I'll be home for Christmas." What else could I say?
She let out a muffled cry at my words.
"Peter, how can I…these past few weeks have been wonderful, magical, and now…" She looked away. "Five more months before I see you again."
In Narnia she would have never have been reduced to this. Tears were for laughter. Now, they are drops of distress, helplessness.
"Susan, I promise you, you have my heart. Everyday, every waking hour, you are right here." I pointed to my heart. "I don't care how far away school is."
"Peter…"
She kisses the side of my face.
Before, I would never have been reduced to this. I would fight to the death for her. Now, I have given up, defeated.
"Come on," I say, motioning to the house. "We should go back, before some one notices we aren't in our rooms."
She nods, rising. The moon shines down as we make our way through the yard. Suddenly, she turns back towards me.
"The train leaves at three?"
I nod, curious.
"So no one is getting up early?"
I smile. "You are always welcome in my room, sister."
We kiss, and in many ways it is beautiful. But inwards I give a sigh.
For this is what we've been reduced to.
Summer.
