"Why?" Man, he whines a lot.

"Please!" You gotta love the puppy dog eyes.

"Fine"

You see, I really wanted to go to the Miami Zoo, and Trish was visiting her grandmother in Nevada. So Austin was my last option. It's not that I don't like spending time with him, I just have a tiny crush on the blond. Okay, I'm in love with the idiot.

"2 tickets please." I was about to hand him the money until Blondie beat me to it.

"I can pay for myself, I already dragged you here."

"Well I can pay for you and myself."

"Fine."

We walked around a bit and got some food. We saved the worst for last in my opinion. The reptiles.

After trudging through the snakes and everything else, we finally made it to the turtles. I found something I knew Blondie would love.

"Austin, look!"

"Pancake turtles! That's awesome!"

"Actually, it's a tortoise, turtles live in water."

"So witty, that's one of the many times I love about you." He grabbed my hand. Then his eyes widened and he froze.

"You love me?" I stuttered out.

"Of course I do, your my best friend!" I crossed my arms and gave him a look saying I wasn't buying it.

"You want the truth?" I nod.

"Yes, I love you, heck, I'm in love with you! I never said anything because I knew you didn't feel the same. I didn't want to get hurt. So yeah.. There is the truth. Friends?" He extended his arm.

"No, I'm sorry Austin. I can't be friends with someone who is in love with me." I said with no expression. I turned around and smiled. I looked back at Austin. He had an expression I just couldn't read. I felt like I kicked a puppy.

"I can't be friends with you," I started, "because it's hard to be friends with someone who your in love with." I smiled.

I swear, you could see his smile from the moon. He cupped my cheek and kissed me. Right there on the bench in front of the pancake tortoise, he asked me out.

We have been together 6 years, married 2. Every anniversary, we still visit that exhibit. It's empty now. Maple now lives in A.J.'s room. Him and Ariana take great care of their father's 4th most loved thing
