"Hi, Uncle Gil!"
Gil Grissom looked up and smiled as he saw Catherine Willows bringing her seven-year-old daughter, Lindsey, into the room.
"Hi, Lindsey. Hey, Cath."
"Who's that?" Lindsey asked, looking at the beetle.
"This is Reginald."
Catherine arched an eyebrow. "You named him?"
"He helped me solve the case. I thought the least I could do was enjoy a meal with him. And I've never shared breakfast with someone whose name I didn't know."
Catherine chuckled and sat down, taking out the breakfast she had packed for herself, and the food she had packed for Lindsey.
"Thanks for inviting us for breakfast, Uncle Gil," Lindsey said.
"There's nothing better than having breakfast with my two favorite girls," Gil informed her.
"And Reginald," Catherine remarked dryly.
"Yes, and Reginald," Gil replied. "He solved my case. It would be rude for me not to eat with him."
Lindsey giggled. "You're so silly, Uncle Gil."
"Thank you, Lindsey," he smiled. He turned to Catherine. "How did the scuba diver up a tree go?"
Catherine rolled her eyes. "Nicky thought the diver had been fished out of Lake Mead."
Gil frowned. "That's an urban legend, Cath."
"I know that," Catherine replied. "Was kinda funny watching Nicky insist that was what happened though."
Gil chuckled. "That's mean, Cath."
"But you're laughing, Uncle Gil," Lindsey reminded him.
Catherine smirked, sending Gil a look.
"You're right, Lindsey," Gil nodded. He turned to Reginald. "Enjoying breakfast?"
Lindsey giggled again, taking another bite. "I don't think he's going to answer, Uncle Gil." When she had finished, she turned to her mother. "Mom, can I go see Greg?"
"Okay. But if he's busy, you come right back here, alright?"
Lindsey nodded. "See you soon, Uncle Gil!"
Gil waved as he watched her race down towards the DNA lab. His attention turned back to Catherine, when she placed her hand in his.
He raised it to his lips and gently kissed it. "Missed you tonight."
"Missed you too," she whispered, squeezing his hand.
"I did however, see you in that white shirt." He grinned broadly at her.
Catherine chuckled. "You like that, huh?"
"Very sexy," he whispered.
"I'll remember that," Catherine assured him.
"The lab's almost empty."
Catherine smiled. "It is."
"So if I was to kiss you right now…we wouldn't really have an audience, would we?"
"No, we wouldn't."
They both leaned over the table simultaneously, Gil pressing a gentle kiss to her lips.
"I think my day just got a whole lot brighter," Catherine smiled.
Gil nodded. "I think mine did too.
