~ Chapter 1 ~

The students quickly trickled into the Xavier institute, many peering into the living room curiously and not so secretly, even when they were trying to be. Sitting on the couch with Ororo and Professor Xavier, was a man they had never seen before.

He appeared to be tall even from where he sat with a mug of steaming liquid in his left hand. He had noticeably chiseled features with a small amount of stubble on his chin. He had a dark olive complexion with thin pale lines dancing over his few see able parts of skin. His chin length curly brown hair was a bit messy with his bangs lightly falling over his forehead.
He was dressed in a mid-night blue button up with the sleeves neatly rolled to his elbow, worn dark blue jeans with a leather belt, dark colored smart shoes. A glint of gold bring their attention to a gold cross around his neck, hanging a in the middle of his chest.

As he laughed at something the Professor said, his bright magenta eyes flickered over the the students congregating at the door. He turned his gaze back to Xavier.

"I-a better be-a leaving, Charles. If-a your students are back mine-a will be returning very-a soon," stranger said with a very noticeable Italian accent.

"Ah, I suppose you're right, Rome," Xavier agreed.

The man now know as Rome carefully placed his mug on the counter and stood before turning to Ororo.

"It-a was a pleasure meeting you-a, Miss Ororo," he said holding out his hand to her.

"It was a pleasure to meet you too, Romulus," Ororo replied placing her hand into his larger one, which he lightly shook.

He turned his attention to back to the Professor once again.

"I-a enjoyed seeing you-a again, Charles. Tell Logan I-a said Ciao when you-a see him next-a time," Rome said shaking the Professor's hand firmly.

"Same to you. You know you and your children are welcome here whenever you want," he replied politely.

"Grazie," Rome thanked before striding past them, casting them a curious gaze as he stepped out of the front door.

"Like, Professor who was that?" Kitty questioned her eyes returning from the door where most everyone else lingered.

"He is Romulus Licavoli an old friend of mine and Logan's," he explained.

"And he's, like, a mutant like us, right? I mean his eyes weren't a normal color,' Kitty pressed.

"Yes. Well, actually he's a bit more like Logan. He's much older than he appears," the Professor confirmed.

"Really? How old is he?" Kurt question excitedly.

"Well, Romulus was born when the Roman Empire still existed," he answered.

The students stood awestruck. How could one man live so long?

Author's Note: Unfortunately, this was a very short and boring chapter but hopefully, it'll get better. I thought you should know who Rome is, he's kind of important expectantly in some places, but not so much in others. Also I feel as though I should inform you that I will be stereo typing some of the character's I created, especially their accents.
