I have to apologize for the holdup on my other stories. I just moved and stuff has been going on. :P I just finished Skyward Sword a couple of weeks ago and loved it! SO I decided I will make my contribution to the growing number of Skyward Sword fanfictions. This is something I came up with in ten minutes, so it's not as polished as my other stories.

To many of the Skyloftians, Kukiel was thought of as a child with an overactive imagination. She would tell anyone would listen about her "Special Friend" she would play with. Her parents thought it was just a child's overactive imagination, but I knew the truth. Her so-called "Special Friend" was a monster! A demon from the void beneath the clouds, waiting to snatch poor children from their homes and feast on them later! I saw it happen to her with my own two eyes…

I was traveling home from the Lumpy Pumpkin that one day. It was dusk, and I was worried about my aging Loftwing, whose eyesight wasn't so good in the daytime to begin with, not being able to see in the fading sunlight. He had been looking droopy in the feathers of late; his once vibrant golden plumage was now reduced to a muddy yellow color. Anyway I was just gliding in when I heard a shrill scream coming from the graveyard. A little girl had fallen off the edge! I urged my bird to go after her, but as I said before, he was getting old and could hardly dive the way we used to. Suddenly, before my very eyes, a huge ferocious demon burst out of the clouds, grabbed the poor child, and swooped to a particular headstone. He immediately struck it and it began to glow. My Loftwing and I were frozen in the air as the horrible monster carried off who I recognized to be Kukiel, Jakamar's tyke, off through a wooden door. The demon looked over at me and bared his fangs in a horrible fashion. I screamed, I did, and my Loftwing flew the fastest away it had in twenty years. I wage we could have beaten that boy with his Crimson Loftwing in a race that very moment.

Once I had gotten far enough away, I flagged down a knight to come listen to my tale. "Rusta, your eyesight must be fading," he had said with a patronizing smile most people gave me nowadays. "Go home and get some rest, it was probably just a hallucination of some sort." I grumbled in protest, but that kid had the audacity to escort me home and make sure my wife put me to sleep before he left. Young people have no respect for their elders anymore hmph . From that day, I spread the word around, telling anyone who would listen to an old man's account of the horrible demon. Unfortunatly, no one listened except for Pumm's daughter, Kina. I was certain she believed me when I told her.

When I went by Jakamar's house, I was surprised to find there was no air of mourning for their lost daughter. Maybe they had not discovered her disappearance yet? I peeked inside and saw Kukiel eating with her family, and I just fell over. She looked perfectly healthy, not a scratch on her! The child didn't even looked scarred for life!

How in the world did she get away from that horrible demon?
