The rain falls softly on your skin
You glare at me so sure that you'll win
I level my gaze but find myself drowning
Your brow puckers slightly so close to frowning
The ice comes quick just like lightning
And all of a sudden we find ourselves fighting
The gold of your eyes luminous in the rain
I see in their depths a life full of pain
The ones you've shared with me and the ones that you've not
I see it all now it hurts quite a lot
I tried helping you once but you pushed me away
Now we shall fight there's nothing left to say
I loved you once and love you still
But I'll never say this but I hope that I will
I loved you once and I never stopped
I wish I could tell you but the words all just flop
We battle for what seems like hours on end
The elements tested by the ways that we bend
Water runs down your face tears or rain
I wish I had the courage to kiss away your pain
My chance comes too soon as you duck out of the way
I find myself taking a moment to pray
You grab my waist and pull me to you
My wrists in your palms and suddenly it's only you
Our lips meet and all too soon its over you let go and start to walk away
You don't resist nor do you care
I kissed you just once it's all that I dare
I can't believe I did that not that I regret
I believe now it's my match that I've met
I can't let you leave, not after that
So hesitantly I seem to call you back
You murmur my name so I turn around
But your lips are on mine and there is no other sound
