He was armed with an axe strapped to his back, a pistol in one hand, prepared, another in his bag at his side, along with plenty of bullets.
She was prepared as well. Knives hidden in many places, a 10mm submachine gun in her hands, and 2 pistols strapped to her sides.
They were the last two people in their entire city to not be devoured by the undead.
Antonio was sitting inside his house, which was as protected as he could make it, reloading his guns. He was saying his daily prayers. Despite the world nearing an end his faith didn't waiver. He knew God had a reason for this.
His food was getting low so he was planning on raiding an old food store for hopefully some not yet bad food and some non-perishables.
Any stores in the closest 3 blocks are gone.
He had 5 gas containers left. He could probably use 1/2 of one to get to a store. Maybe even a gas station to fill up an empty one.
He had to plan this trip as well as he could. But Antonio wasn't the best at planning. He sighed staring at his map of the city, figuring out where would be best and where had the most zombies.
About an hour later he finally made it out of the house, securing it down for while he was gone.
He decided to take all his main weapons, and risk walking to save gas.
Today there didn't seem to be as many zombies around his house, he did get a lot done yesterday. But almost as he was thinking this, about five started coming near him. He quickly strapped the gun to his hip and pulled the axe off his back, swinging at the creatures, successfully beheading 3 of them. He swung again, another down. As the last one of the group was on the group it seemed there were more coming. He kept swinging and swinging at them, quickly trying to kill as many as possible, although it seemed like they were going on forever.
After about another hour of dealing with that, he was half-way to his destination. He decided to take an alley near the store, thinking it would be safe. He went to turn down the alley when he heard footsteps. He quickly pulled out one of his pistols and pointed it in front of him, and before he knew it, he had another in his face. "Who are you?" Antonio and the person in front of him both yelled.
He slowly lowered his gun, realising it was a human, not just a human but a beautiful woman. "My name is Antonio Fernandez Carriedo." She rolled her eyes.
"Is the full name necassary?"
"Si, we seem to be the only ones alive, might as well be formal, right? What is your name, senorita?"
"...Just call me Natalia."
"Alright, Natalia~ I was just on my way to the store, would you like to join me?"
She stared at him for a moment, analyzing his face. "Do you have a vehicle? Or a home?"
"Si, to both, I've been pretty lucky, at least when it comes to keeping property."
"Alright. I guess I'll tag along. But this isn't going to get personal. This is purely for survival. Got it?"
"Si, of course."
After having Natalia around for about a week, Antonio realized she was proving very useful. The amount of time going places was cut in more than half. And the amount of food gotten had multiplied quite a bit as well, since they could both carry things on them when they didn't drive.
They both knew places the other didn't know about, so they extended each other's knowledge.
Antonio's new companion proved more than skilled when it came to killing zombies. She had a seemingly never-ending supply of throwing knives and her aim with them was impeccable.
Her aim with her guns was almost as good.
Antonio was starting to think fighting for survival for all these months was worth it and that God had shone a light on him after all!
Alone they were both good. But with each other, they were an unstoppable team.
