It was Halloween - October 31st - and me and everyone (well, except Darry who had candy duty) were out trick or treating and causing trouble with other greasers, little kids and socs, if they were to show up.
I laughed as I ran besides Sodapop and Ponyboy, in my costume dressed as a cat. Yeah, I'm kind of lame like that but I didn't know what I wanted to be for halloween. And besides, Sodapop told me I should be a black cat.
Sodapop was also my crush. We may have had a 2 years resemblence, but that doesn't mean we didn't have the same personality, happy all the time and always hyper. Darry called us twins cause of the way I behaved so much like him.
"Halloween is so much fun!" Two bit said, grinning his Two bit grin. I smiled and nodded, agreeing. Soda grinned at me and I blushed, and was thankful for the dark.
"Hey look! A cemetary!" Steve pointed out as we started passing it. I looked at wearily and stood close to Soda. A couple snickers were heard from Two bit, Steve and Dally. I glared at them playfully.
"Shut your faces before I shut them for you." I warned them and they stopped but were quietly laughing on the inside. Soda chuckled and looked at the cemetary, long and good.
"Guys, let's play ghost in the graveyard!" he said, suddenly turning towards all of us. I looked down at the ground while the guys just shrugged. Johnny and Ponyboy looked a bit uneasy of playing.
"I dont know, Soda." Pony mumbled, glancing up at the cemetary, which was starting to get foggy.
"What's wrong Pony? Chicken?" Two bit asked, squaking like a chicken and everyone laughing at him. Pony's cheeks fumed and he sighed.
"Okay! Okay! We'll play, jeesh." I sighed as well.
"Fine, I'll play." Soda smiled and he took my hand, leading me in with the others behind us. I winced a bit as he creaked the gate open and walked in. It was scary and I really, really hated cemetaries. Escpecially on Halloween.
"Okay, um..." Dally looked at me. "Hannah's it!" Dally said and everyone smiled before running off in the fog. I groaned.
"Not fair," I mumbled and counted to 20. It had gotten real foggy and I held my arms.
"Guys?" I asked, walking around carefully. I stepped around carefully and heard the snap of a twig. I jumped and gasped, and whirled around.
"Who's there?" I asked, glancing around. It was quiet...to quiet.
"BOO!" I screamed and Dally's laughing shattered the air. I glared but didn't see him.
"Dallas Winston when I find you you are so dead!" I said and he only laughed more. I heard snickers around me but didn't see anyone. I started getting scared and started to turn around.
"Oh Hannah?!" I felt someone's hands on my shoulders, making me jump and squeak half scream.
"Hannah!" I looked up ahead and saw Soda's arm stretched out, his hand reaching for mine. "C'mon, I'll take you out of here." I nodded, and ran to him. He took my hand and led me out of the cemetary.
"You okay?" he asked and looked at me. I nodded.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I said and barely looked up at him. He smiled and titled my chin up, looking me square in the eye.
"Hannah... I planned out the game, the ghost in the graveyard game. For a reason." I looked at him in disbelief.
"Why?" I asked. He smiled.
"So I could do this." he said and leaned down, placing his lips on mine. I was startled for a moment before catching on and kissing him back. I smiled as I pulled away.
"I like you Hannah. A real lot." he said and smiled widely. I smiled at him.
"I-I like you, too Soda." I said before kissing him again and hearing Dally's voice say followed by laughter:
"Alright Soda! You go man!"
