Tormented
Chapter One
Sakura sucked in a deep breath of the refreshing, balmy spring air. Her auburn hair ruffled in the wind. "Look mom! What a.." she recoiled in horror. There her family laid, murdered in cold blood. Upon those grassy green hills, Sakura's hope was torn apart. The assailant, Sakura did get a clear view of him. Never in this lifetime will she forget those green eyes flecked with red, murderous intent and white hair sprinkled with black flakes. That unique, one-of-a-kind scar upon the assailant's cheek was even more memorable. It was at the tender age of five that Sakura never enjoyed the warmth of a family again.
Taken in by the assailant under his wing, Sakura was trained to be an assassin of deadly repute. Shadow stalking in sleath and lightning-quick moves earned Sakura her name. "From the moment you began to train you was named no more Sakura, but instead the name of Yin." Yin, in chinese, symbolises a woman's devious nature, but also the important balance in the Yin-Yang circle.
Not only was Sakura/Yin trained by the assailant, who was termed as Master Won, but other girls and boys too whose families were murdered and brought up by Master Won. They were all whipped when they did not train properly and the meals were meagre. Never exposed to the outside world beyond the dojo, the dojo soon became the dog-eat-dog reality in Yin's mind, where everyone except Master Won fought for food, Master Won's acknowledgement and pure raw. Yin never talked to anyone there, letting your enemy know yourself is just like sending yourself to doom.
10 years passed like a speeding arrow. Yin grew up to be an independant girl with distinctive features and a model's body. Her long auburn hair was cropped short in a boyish manner, but her intelligence and sense surpassed all. Yin had a well-rounded education. She was able to pick up the subjects taught quickly, a girl of exceptional learning calibre. Yin, shaking off her master and family's assailant's shadow, started to pick up pieces of her broken life. Loosened from the dojo, Yin was let out - in Kyoto, Japan. How ten years has shaped the Kyoto she once knew differently! Dressed in her training clothes of a plain shirt and long gi pants, she knew she looked weird. Yin started to scath around for jobs.
Yin begin working at her new job as a martial arts sensei at a well-off properietess' estate. Yin never really cared about her students, more of the money she was about to make. Just a few simple punches and kicks and she finished her job! Who cared?
The first moment the properietess laid eyes on Yin was the time that Yin's life changed for the better. The properietess, Mrs. Kino, thought that Yin looked like her deceased niece, and took her in as a daughter. Yin was thus given an opportunity to learn and to school. Even though at a later age, Yin caught up quickly with her peers and even topped her class! Her shady past was soon covered by her now glamorous present. Showing an aptitude for music as well as for learning, Yin was gradually accepted into the social circle, and even formed a band of her own called "Forgotten Nature".
But yet, she was never forgotten. How could Master Won forget his most prominent student? Once again, shall he call for her services, and this...was about to begin.
