Keiko was really tired. She was up all night. Keiko took a bet, with her good friend Ritsuko. Ritsuko bet that Keiko couldn't stay up for thirty-six hours straight. Keiko, who liked to gamble, accepted the bet. Keiko made it past twenty-four hours. Only twelve hours to go, but Keiko didn't think she could make it.
Keiko needed coffee. Ritsuko said Keiko had to stay up for thirty-six hours straight, she didn't say Keiko had to stay up for thirty-six hours straight without any sort of help. So, Keiko decided, she was going to get some coffee. When Keiko went to get the coffee, she needed to avoid Tsunade. Tsunade wouldn't allow Keiko to have coffee. Coffee had a lot of sugar and caffeine. Sugar and caffeine made people hyper. Tsunade thought Keiko was hyper enough, so she wasn't allowed to have coffee. If Tsunade caught Keiko drinking coffee, she would be in big trouble. Keiko didn't get care if she got caught drinking coffee; she needed the coffee to stay awake.
Keiko stuck into Tsunade's office while Tsunade was out dropping off some papers. Tsunade always had a pot of coffee in her office if she ever needed it. When Keiko got a hold of the coffee pot she chugged about half of it down.
"Ugh, this stuff tastes horrible. Why do adults drink this stuff?" Keiko thought to herself. She didn't really care, she needed the caffeine and she needed it now. Keiko chugged down the rest of the coffee and she put the pot back where she found it. Then Keiko left Tsunade's office feeling much better.
Later that day, after Keiko passed the thirty-six hour mark, she started to feel sick. Her stomach churned, and jumped every time she moved. Keiko really wanted to throw up, but she couldn't. In order to make her stomach stop hurting, Keiko laid down on the couch in Tsunade's office. Keiko knew that staying in Tsunade's office was a bad idea, but she felt like her stomach was going to kill her. The only way her stomach would stop hurting was if she stayed still, and in order to stay still she had to lay down, and the only place to lay down was on the couch which was in Tsunade's office.
Keiko had been lying down for about ten minutes when she heard a door open and someone walking into the room.
"Keiko," a voice said softly, "are you awake?" The voice belonged to Tsunade.
"Yeah, I'm awake," Keiko replied. Boy was she awake! She couldn't sleep. Her stomach was now hurting her more than ever. Keiko wanted to die it hurt so badly.
"Keiko, are you okay?" Tsunade asked. Tsunade was worried about Keiko. Keiko never acted like this. Keiko didn't want to respond to Tsunade. It took her more than a minute to respond. She didn't want Tsunade to know she was sick, but Keiko knew Tsunade would find out sooner or later. Keiko finally confessed.
"I drank some coffee and now I don't feel so good," Keiko said with a shaky voice. Tsunade looked over at the coffee pot and saw that it was empty. Tsunade was shocked, but she couldn't yell at Keiko. Keiko was really sick and she needed some comfort. Tsunade picked Keiko up and she sat on the couch, resting Keiko against her. Even though Keiko didn't like to hear her sing, she sang anyways, softly. Keiko didn't object to Tsunade's singing, instead Keiko tried to get even closer to Tsunade. Tsunade took Keiko in her arms and held her. Soon, Keiko fell asleep. When she did, Tsunade, as carefully as she could, set Keiko on the couch. Tsunade smiled at Keiko, and then went off to do some paperwork.
