Jack went on his motorcycle to the new college he would be attending. He had no real idea how to feel. His parents died when he was young and he lived in an orphanage like place. He had a few adoptive brothers and sisters. One brother he was close to still talked to him after he died, actually.
He went to the parking space and parked his motorcycle there, and walked in. He got in and registered. The person working their complemented his beard.
"Oh and also one thing."
"What is it?" Jack asked.
"They're are an odd number of boys and girls here, so you'll be rooming with a girl."
"Oh. Well, thanks for telling me." Jack was always a little, okay, really shy around girls. He can get along with them like Selena and Mabel, but they're his sisters
and younger. This would be different.
The man give him his key and he walked to his dorm. He went up the stairs and opened the door. A girl was sitting on one bed. She had her black hair combed up. She was on a computer, but looked up when he got in.
'Oh boy.'
She had big, slanted eyes, sun-kissed skin, big, pouty red lips and a petite slim, yet curved figure. She was wearing a black tank top and ripped skinny jeans. She wasn't pretty. She wasn't beautiful. She was as radiant as the sun.
"Oh!" Jack said. "Hi! I'm, uh, Jack."
"Ashi." She simply replied.
Jack walked over to his side of the room and began to unpack his stuff. He didn't know if he should talk to her or just be quiet. After a while of thinking, he decided to risk it.
"So, where are you from?" He asked her.
"Sherwood, Ohio."
"Oh. Is it nice there?"
Ashi sighed. "Sure."
"I heard there was a popular movie that took place there."
"Heathers?"
"Yeah. My sister liked that movie."
"Hmm."
Jack tried to think of something else to say.
"So, what other movies do you like?"
She unexpectedly groaned with frustration.
"Look, I know you're trying to nice and stuff, but right now I'm trying to make it obvious that I don't want to talk now. So please just leave me be for a while okay?"
"Okay." He said.
"But before you leave me be, tell me, where are you from?"
"I actually moved quite far from my home."
"Hey so did I. I lived in Ohio now I'm in San Diego. Tell me where did you come from?"
"Albany, New York."
"Hmm. Wanted to get away from your parents?" Ashi asked, jokingly
"They, died actually."
"Oh. Sorry."
"That's alright. So now I'll leave you be."
Ashi smiled and went back to her computer.
Jack couldn't help but grin. She had a beautiful smile.
