I just can't seem to give up poetry! Here's another depressing one! The subject should be fairly obvious!
This has now been reloaded with a few minor changes. White flowers have been changed to gold (yellow didn't fit!) and the spelling errors have been fixed!
Thanks for reading!
Blaze of Glory
Blazing gold stood straight and tall,
He faced the burning demon's hell,
Swords raised as destinies entwine,
On cliff above the mortal world.
Flame and steel with movement blur,
Cool light in combat with dark fire,
Protector offers one last smile,
Then lures the beast into the grip of hell.
Though flame has brought the flower's fall,
His sacrifice was not in vain,
A thousand hearts beat for one lost,
For life a death is duly paid.
Upon his grave gold flowers laid,
Bright as the life extinguished once,
Laments unto the Valar sweetly sung,
For the hero's soul forever gone.
Now I know this wasn't really the end for Glorfy, but nobody knew that at the time! Hmmm, should I write a sequel poem?
