Snapshots in Time

It hurt.

To this day, he had never felt so many emotions in one moment: Anger. Hurt. Betrayal. Resentment. Hatred.

Take care 0f your father.

The last words she spoke because he missed his shift. Because he was unworthy of being a dad.

Take care of your father.

Sam admitted it, his mother did have those moments where she would scold him for no reason but he still loved her nevertheless

Take care of your father. Take care of your father. Take care of your father.

The beach blonde had never done anything to deserve this yet here he was after his Mother's funeral. So much for Karma.

The Gang had always understood. Though they didn't lose loved ones and got placed with idiotic fathers, they understood.

Sam still remembers when they would sneak out to help Marvin with his 'existential crises' or Joe's English Homework… Or when Freddie would call up complaining about how his mother is so 'unbelievably unfair'. Let's not forget when Greg tried to ski with two piñata sticks and an ironing board…

It was good times like this Sam didn't want to forget, not the ones where they drifted apart, when they blackmailed one another or fought with each other. But he could tell, everything will be okay. After all, things always worked out for them.

Sam had never classified himself as a hopeless romantic but there's a first time for everything, right?

It wasn't his fault that Charlotte Fabray was extremely nice and pretty and smart and popular and- this is how he realised that he was in love with a girl who had never looked in his direction.

But he knew for certain when he started drawing things like:

Sam + Charlotte forever,

Miss Charlotte Waters

or, most embarrassingly

Mr Sam Fabray

But when she'd look in his direction in the corridors or smile at him during Mr Binns' boring History lecture, he couldn't help but feel wanted for once.

It was then, he knew. He will do anything for this girl.

At the end of the day, Sam always considered himself as a normal person with a moderate life- a typical 15 year old boy about to sit his GCSEs in a few weeks… But then of course, there's always one thing that ruins everything

Late after school, on a Monday evening, Sam arrived home to find his dad gone (as usual; seems like all he did was sweep up after that idiots' mistakes now) and the fuse broken. That was fishy. Despite the low income his dad made, things were more or less okay with the run down house they called home.

There was a thud and the last thing he felt was the cold wooden floor hitting his porcelain face.

Everything was bright. The light beamed angry rays at his pale face and he heard a foreign, unknown voice.

"Sam? You awake? You're going to be alright!"

Stop Sign. Sirens. Pain. Car.

I hope so.
