Trini

This story is dedicated to my cutest sophomore cousin ever, Trini. And because of this, the series will be first person perspective.

Chapter 1: The Life of A Quiet Gamer

Sitting on my chair in front of my laptop, I tried to think about a story. There many things I could write about, and those many things could were not the best. Only if my best friends were here with me, suggesting some ideas I could write about. Maybe I should probably write about my boring life, which should be great. Just then, I heard my mom called me.

"Yes mom!" I called out as my mom appeared in my room unexpectedly like she was always there.

"Get dressed, we're going over to your cousin's house," ordered my mother as I look at her suspiciously. I wanted to tell her how much I hated my cousins, especially the young ones because they especially annoying, giving me headaches. I also didn't want to mess around with the older ones because two things could really happen. One, they could beat me up if they get pissed. Two, they might think I'm annoying like how I think of the younger ones. So it's best to stay away from them.

"Do I have to?" I asked.

"Yes, you do. You need to get off playing NBA 2K15 and go make some new friends with your cousin," replied my mom as I rolled my eyes at her. "I also heard about this cute cousin of yours whose a sophomore. You should really meet her." Sophomore? That's not good. She was a year older than I, and the things I listed what might happen may be possible.

"Alright alright. I'll get dressed," I muttered as I got up from my chair and opened my closet. I got dressed and I headed towards the living room. My mom sent me to the car, and both of this was quiet. I looked outside of the window, as we passed by many shops and restaurants nearby. We then, headed towards a freeway, as many cars passed by ours. I saw kids having fun together in one car, and I knew exactly, that's not going happen to me and my cousin. After for a few minutes, she parked near a house's garage and we ring the doorbell. We waited until the for opened and a lady smiled at us warmly.

"Hey! How's it going?" asked the lady, who must be my mom's cousin.

"Great, I just want to drop off for a visit!" exclaimed my mom as her cousin pointed upstairs.

"Go on ahead upstairs, lots of kids are waiting for you. Have fun!" she called out as I headed upstairs. After taking the first step, I could already tell it was going to be chaos. Kids were yelling, and lots of noise crashing up ahead. Then a ball flew above my head as it landed in front of me. Then a kid, who appears to be my cousin, called me as he asked for the ball.

"Hey! Can you get the ball for me?" asked the kid as I picked it up and toss it to him. He caught it and thank me as he continue to played. I went upstairs and saw two kids playing ball while a group of other kids playing the Wii U as the game Super Smash Bros. was being played. I saw an older kid who seems like he was from college, on the sofa but I chose to stay away because I knew exactly what was going to happen. I headed towards a room with four doors facing me as one opened and a little girl ran out of the room. She passed me and I saw another girl playing on a desktop in the room. I stared silently as I came in slowly. Is she the one my mom talked about? She did naturally look like a sophomore, but how was she cute? I couldn't see her face from behind so I couldn't tell. I slowly sat down next to her and then she finally took notice of me. My was right, she looked really cute, even for a sophomore, but why am I thinking about this? I certainly have a dirty mind. She then looked back at her screen, as I watched her focus. I recognized the game she was playing. It definitely look like League of Legends, as she played Sona, trying to heal the whole team. She was certainly quiet, because she haven't said anything for 5 minutes straight. I decided to speak up.

"So what's your name?" I asked as she continue to focus on the game.

"It's Trini," she replied emotionlessly without looking at me. That's an unusual name, but cute too. Is everything about her going to be cute? Just then, a voice was heard from her game.

"Triple Kill!" exclaimed the game.

"That's nice name," I replied as I looked around her room. I saw a tennis racket leaned against a wall which impressed me a little bit. "JV tennis?" I asked.

"Yeah," she replied. Wow, she was certainly quiet, and like to answer with one word, or maybe she was just nervous with someone new. She was certainly different from the rest of the other cousins out there. She wasn't wild or crazy as them. She's just chilling, and separating herself from the crowd. I continue to look around her room as I saw a stack of books on her table right next to her.

"You like reading too?" I asked.

"Yeah," replied Trini. Is that all she going to say? Really?

"Can I see?" I asked as she took the stack of books and place it next to me. I skim through the titles on the side of the book. There was three books from the Hunger Games, Twilight, and other romance books. "Wow, these I actually read some of it already. Have you-" Before I could even finished, another voice from the games was heard.

"You have been slain," exclaimed the game as Trini sighed and turned on her phone.

"My bad," I called out as she suddenly looked at me.

"For what?" asked Trini as I smiled warmly. She finally replied with more than one word. I should probably keep this going.

"I messed you up," I replied as she put down her after texting someone.

"Nah, it's all good," said Trini as I smiled even more. That surprised me even more. She was able to say four words, and maybe he was wrong about her not being able to speak a lot.

"You know, that Katarina is really bad. Why the heck would you build AD on her. She's an AP," I corrected as she looked at me surprisingly. "Also, why is she using her ult on minions. Come on now that's a waste!"

"You play this before?" she asked.

"Yeah, but it's been four years ever since. I don't think I would be able to match against those good players anymore," I replied.

"It doesn't matter. We can play together some time," suggested Trini as I nodded.

"Sure," I said as I watched her buy Rabadon's Deathcap. It looks like she's going full AP with Sona. "I have a question though."

"Yeah?" called out Trini as she focused on her screen as I looked outside where my other cousins where playing.

"Why don't you play with the little ones outside?" I asked as she suddenly stopped playing which was probably a bad idea.

"I- I do sometimes, but there are times where they annoy me," replied Trini as I recognize a coincidence.

"How about the one who looks like he's I'm college?" I asked.

"Except for him. He's cool," she replied as another sound came from the game.

"Defeat!" Trini sighed as she looked at the scoreboard. I decided to look at it too, and I was surprised.

"Terrible game. Too many feeders on your team, making it hard to carry. You're score is actually better than anybody on that game," I informed as she looked at me with a smile. It was the first time I seen her smile as the smile warmed my heart. Her score was shown on the screen: 2/5/16.

"You wanna play a game?" asked Trini as I shook my head. As much as I want to play, I didn't feel like playing on someone's belonging because I feel it was rude.

"Nah I'm good, but want to talk though?" I asked as she nodded.

"What's it like being sophomore?" I asked as she suddenly looked away. I felt as if I asked the wrong question, or if I harmed her by asking that question. "It's okay if you don't want to answer." She shook her head and looked at me worriedly.

"It's fine. It's great, I have friend's and all. Nothing bad has happened to me yet," replied Trini as she placed her head on her knee and looked down sadly.

"Then why did you look away when I asked that? You look really sad. Are you sure it's nothing?" I asked as she stayed quiet. I decided she didn't want to answer, so I tried to think of something else to talk about. Maybe how many friends she has?

"You won't understand, only those who relatively closer to me," she called out as I looked at her worriedly.

"Okay then, let us talk about something else then. I'm being transferred to this high school called South Hills High School," I said as I knew nothing about that school. It was a bad idea, but my mom was probably making me go anyways. Trini suddenly widen her eyes at me as she turned away from me.

"Get out," Trini said silently as I looked at her confusingly.

"Wait-"

"I said get out! You're lying! You can't possibly go there!" yelled Trini as I was shocked on how much she didn't want me to go there. I thought about something a while. South Hill was close from here, could she possibly go there?

"Let me guess, you go there too?" I asked as she stayed silent. Something was definitely wrong with her. Maybe something was interfering with her life. I need to find out later. I stood up and left, but then I felt a hand grabbed my arm. I realized Trini wanted me to stay with her, so I decided to sit down next to her.

"I just don't want you to experience bullying like I did," Trini replied silently as I looked at her suspiciously.

"Bullying? But we played against your South Hill boys in basketball, they seem nice," I replied as she shook her head. "It's not a boy. It's a girl with a bunch of friends. She likes to bully my friends and I. She's just doing it so she could be popular," I felt bad for her. Maybe it was a bad idea going to this school.

"Ignore that (censored), she doesn't know anything about you," I cursed as she looked at me and smiled.

"I can't believe my little cousin actually cares about me," described Trini as I smiled.

"I can't believe I got into the habit of talking to a cousin," I joked as she punched me in the arm playfully.

"Shut up!" joked Trini as we both laughed. Just then my mom called me, as I looked at her sadly. "I guess you got to go. Hey I'll see you tomorrow and I'll introduce you around."

"Alright cool. Bye Trini!" I called out as I headed out of her room smiling but then she called out for me again.

"Hey! I didn't caught your name!" called out Trini.

"Friends call me Steph!" I shouted back as I walked downstairs. I gotta admit, she's pretty chill and cute. She's got to be my favorite cousin ever!
