Redemption

Summary: "Now what? Everyone's dead and we're both dying. It's over, Sakura. This is the end." said the raven haired man

"You're wrong, Sasuke." the girl said with a bittersweet chuckle " It's only the beginning"

Prologue

Darkness.

Then light again.

Then darkness.

It was a cycle she couldn't escape.

And when the darkness came again, she just wanted to die.

To follow them in the death.

Naruto, Ino, TenTen, Hinata, Lee, Kiba, Tsunade, Shizune, Neji and everyone else from the Rookie Nine.

Everyone were dead.

Except him.

The Uchiha survivor.

The Uchiha prodigy.

The Snake Sanin's apprentice.

The boy (now man) she used to love.

Or simply Sasuke.

With all the strength left in her she opened her eyes.

She knew that in few minutes, maybe even seconds, she was going to go unconscious again and probably won't open her eyes ever again.

But she wanted to see the world one last time. The wind had stopped. The birds weren't singing. It was like the Nature was weeping for our heroine. She, herself, didn't have the energy to shed a single tear.

She looked at the cherry blossom trees. At the soft, green grass. At the calm blue sky. Yes, that was certainly a beautiful place to die on.

She looked to her left. A mistake.

Sasuke was barely standing on his knees.

Even in the situation they were in, even the condition they were in, he still had enough energy to smirk.

"Now what? Everyone's dead and we're both dying. It's over, Sakura. This is the end."

His words hit her. Dead. Over. End.

Suddenly, she was disgusted with her previous thoughts. Why had she been thinking about giving up and dying at first place? Is that what she learnt from Naruto?
Naruto...

If it was him that was alive, he would have been thinking not about escaping (because that's what dying was for Sakura) but about redeem. She had to redeem herself. To make it better.

She had to survive.

She had to be with them.

"Redeem, huh?" muttered Inner "I don't know about time traveling or resurrection, but there's a hottie here, saying he can help."

Sakura mentally sighed. Now wasn't the time to have inner conversations.

But she replied nonetheless " 'A hottie'? In my mind? Saying he can help?"

"Your intentions are pure, girl." spoke another voice "I am Haru, God of the Fate. I will give you and your friends a chance to redeem yourselves. I will give you the jutsu needed, but it's up to you if you'll have the energy to do it."

"Hai."

Back in the present, she looked up.

"You're wrong, Sasuke." the girl said with a bittersweet chuckle " It's only the beginning"

The pinkette slowly did some hand signs.

The Uchiha narrowed his eyes "What exactly are you doing?"

Sakura ignored him and weakly yelled " Shōkan no Jutsu!"

Her eyes began to close. The jutsu was slowly taking her last piece of chakra

away.

"That's certainly much better than death..." was her last though before the world

became black

And for the first time, Inner silently agreed with her.
