A/N: This is one of those 'got spurred-at-the-moment' fics. I think I prefer more in writing drabble-ish and oneshot fics. Meh.

Please excuse any grammatical errors you may find here. I like writing but English is not my forte.

I knew I wouldn't be able to say it,

Even now, I love you.

There was once a short boy with brown spiky hair that stood up at all sides and has warm and soft caramel eyes, and a taller boy with blueish-purple hair that was up in a unique-looking hairstyle that would let anyone remind of it as tropical fruit and has two different colored eyes, a red and blue one. They were strangers at first, not knowing what's in store for them.

"…Thanks for giving me a ride home, Mukuro." Tsuna spoke as he handed the black helmet back to his best friend, Mukuro, who was giving him a tiny soft smile.

"Sure. Good night, Tsunayoshi." Mukuro said, watching the brunet wave at him and mouthing a goodnight as he went inside to his house before turning on the engine of his bike.

Mukuro let his heterochromatic eyes linger for a moment on the space where Tsuna was standing a few seconds ago. A pang of sadness suddenly stabbed him in his beating heart.

I can see you again tomorrow, but strangely, I feel lonely.

Mukuro sighed and he sped away, back to his own home, enjoying the feeling of the evening air hitting his face.

Before summer break ended, there was something I wanted to tell you, but…

"There sure are a lot of people tonight." Tsuna said aloud as his eyes glimmer in excitement, watching as a thousand of colors lit up the starry sky. "But I was surprised you got this spot reserved."

"It's not that difficult once you've got connections."

Tsuna stared up at Mukuro who was trying his best not to let his lips curl into a frown at what he had said just now, and then he smiled warmly at him, "Thanks for tonight. I had fun."

They stood side-by-side, not too close and yet not too far, for a few minutes watching at the fireworks display up in the hill, a perfect spot that anyone could ever find.

"Tsunayoshi…" Mukuro started but was stopped when he felt a finger gently pressing against his lips. He looked down and saw Tsuna smiling softly at him as if he could tell what was he's going to say.

"I know."

They were alone in a messy room, clothes, notebooks and pens scattered everywhere on the floor. No one bothered to pick them up, not his mother nor the kids who come and play once in a while, not even the brunet who had his eyes staring widely at a pair of closed ones as lips gently moved against his quivering ones, his arms left hanging on his sides as the taller of the two wrapped his arms around the brunet with gentleness.

It was on that day that Tsunayoshi had gotten his very first kiss.

"I want us to stay friends, Mukuro." Tsuna said, watching the crowds under them becoming more and more crowdy as the colorful lights above them painted the dark starry sky with bright and beautiful colors.

Mukuro stood by the brunet's side, curling his fist tightly into a ball as he silently watched the evening sky with sad eyes, his heart shattering into a million pieces.

Whenever you call my name, I cry

Before summer break ended

There was something I wanted to tell you, but

When something breaks again, you can't go back

I knew I wouldn't be able to say it

Even now I love you

Goodbye, my friend.

A/N: I'll let your imagination wonder about what happened here.

The English lyrics and title are from "Sayonara, My Friend" by SCANDAL. It's a good song for friends that has drifted apart.
