Disclaimers: All rights belong to J.K. Rowling. I simply use her world for my crazy brain to come up with moments of brilliance.

A/N: A shout to TheRoseandtheDagger, who got my brain to go into overdrive with the thought of expanding.

This is all pertaining to 'The Gift of A Single Moment' universe. Each chapter is a little ficlet all on its own but will be put in a chronological order. I still haven't decided just how much I want to expand this. As requested there will be more scenes between Dark Knight and Mistress Quill.

Please review - as this helps my writing greatly.

Aftermath: The Most Shocking of All

Shocking revelations had become quite frequent in the past twelve hours. The record was set straight many times. People chalked it up to the nature of the beast when a final showdown occurred.

The Golden Trio snuck into Hogwarts to find the fabled lost diadem of Ravenclaw after months on the run. Professor McGonagall finally defied the new regime that had taken over her beloved school and dueled Headmaster Snape until he fled. Hogwarts was free. The call to battle and Hogwarts releasing it's magic to protect. The gathering of the Order of the Phoenix and Dumbledore's Army. The hordes of Death Eaters that waited patiently to attack. Death and chaos. Headmaster Snape dying, courtesy of Voldemort's familiar. Harry Potter surrendering himself and dying. The Malfoys defecting and helping the side of light. Harry Potter returning from the beyond. Headmaster Snape's true allegiances finally revealed. The final showdown between the Dark Lord and the Boy-Who-Lived. The Elder Wand – not just a myth, a fact. And finally after so long, Voldemort died; his body turning to ash and his soul sent to the beyond.

Everyone thought that would be the end of the surprises. And then Hermione Granger, brains of the Golden Trio and Gryffindor Princess burst into the Great Hall with a very much alive Headmaster Snape who was on a short way train to death. But the most shocking revelation had come after the Headmaster had been healed from the more serious wounds, taken another dose of blood-replenishing potion and antivenin, and had been forced down onto one of the many infirmary cots by Madame Pomfrey. His long fingers reached out and grabbed Hermione Granger's hand. He pressed a gentle, loving kiss to the inside of her wrist before slipping into an unconscious state from the coma-inducing potion he had been forced to take. Gasps and whispers flew around the room as Hermione smiled, leaned down, kissed the Headmaster's lips, and then curled up next to him. Her head came to rest on his chest. The sound of his steady heartbeat lulled her to sleep and she finally relaxed. The war was over.
