Midnight Wish - Prologue
by Midnight Wish

It was nearly midnight, and I was sitting by the window, staring at the stars. The stars illuminated the Hogwarts ground and acted like spotlights towards the vivid spring flowers. Just thinking about it made me a little bit greedy; it made me want all the beautiful spring flowers in the world. Oh, how I would love to receive a flower from a boy! A boy as handsome as the flower itself will bring happiness to my eyes.

Sadly, that will never happen...I seemed to have fallen in love with someone I could not easily reach. He was someone who acted like a very distant star in the midnight sky or maybe a star in a different galaxy. Instead of shining brightly, he shone like a dim bulb that needed replacing. He could become a black hole, because of his dark-like attitude.

I watched the lights in the room dim, going into a different level of darkness by each hour. Although the events on the premises of Hogwarts seemed dull and boring, the stars seemed to persuade me to stay and watch; something special was going to happen. I waited for the special event the stars made me linger for, but still nothing happened.

My friend Claire awoke from her slumber. She rubbed her tired puffy eyes. "Ginny, it's nearly midnight! I think you should go back to bed, I don't want you to be all groggy in the morning." She yawned, walking towards the window.

Her dark hair looked tangled, just like the knot the stars tied me in. I somehow became addicted to the stars.

"What are you looking at?" She queried, trying to stop herself from drifting back into sleep.

"I'm looking at the stars. I'm looking at the stars we seem to ignore every night." I replied, grabbing the blanket on my bed.

Claire returned to her bed, feeling a bit bored and sleepy. Somehow, her sleepiness reminded my body that it was time for my rest too, but the stars made me stay. Then, the stars' surprise arrived; it was a shooting star. I smiled with a Cheshire cat grin. Never had I seen such a wonderful event! I quickly thought of a wish, a wish that seemed nearly impossible to grant. I wished for a chance of love, but not just any kind of love. I wished for…Draco Malfoy.
