In the Depths of Hell

Sweeney Todd surveyed the area. He was killed moments ago by Mrs. Lovett's adopted son Toby. He was in hell. He wasn't really surprised; after all killing dozens of people will land you in hell. He caught a familiar sight. It was Mrs. Lovett walking towards him. She was also sent to hell, but what do you expect she was his accomplices in killing and hiding the bodies.

" Mr. T is that you?" She asked squinting. Her hair was singed and so was her dress. Her face was covered in soot, and ash.

"Mrs….Mrs. Lovett." He stammered not knowing how angry she was at him.

" I'm surprised to see you down here." She said in a sarcastic tone. " What did you in?" She asked suddenly noticing the cut mark on his neck. " How in the world did that happen." She pointed to the cut on Sweeney's neck.

" Your son." The answer was simple, but it had a hint of anger in it.

" Well what did you expect? He would just except my death." She cocked her hip, and was now starting to shout.

" Look I'm sorry for what I did." Mr. Todd said trying to reason with her. He stepped a little closer, but she backed away.

" No your not. You were mad at yourself for killing Lucy, and you viciously took it out on me." She pointed and angry finger in his face.

" No I truly am sorry. After I killed you I regretted it. Toby did me a favor by killing me." His voice softened. He tried to step closer again, and this time she didn't back away. " I had lost Lucy long ago; I was just to stubborn to admit it, love." Hearing him say that hope filled Nellie's eyes.

" Mr. T….I'm ..sorry" She tried not to cry, but tears ran down her pale face.

" Why are you sorry?" He asked grabbing her waist, and holding her close.

" I could've told you your wife was alive, but I wanted to keep you all for myself." She buried her face in his chest, and hugged him closer.

" Its ok love." He twirled her hair in his fingers, and rubbed her back with his free hand.

" No it isn't I kept you from being happy just so I could." She lifted her face off of his chest and looked straight into his big brown eyes. They seemed kinder and more hopeful than she remembered them ever being.

" I was happy. Watching you cheerfully sing around your shop; baking pies. I was happy."

" Why didn't you say anything love?"

" Because I was afraid." He was afraid that if he opened up to Mrs. Lovett that he would forget about Lucy entirely, but Lucy didn't matter now. All that mattered was Mrs. Lovett. " Mrs. Lovett?"

" Yes?" She was still looking into his unchanged eyes.

" I love you." Sweeney pulled Nellie closer and gave a soft kiss on her lips.

" I love you too Mr. T." She returned the kiss, and at last they were no longer in hell; they were in heaven.
