One Final Thought

He always thought of her. Her and only her. The her he could never have. Since their first year, back when he was eleven, they treated each other like vermin. She was a mudblood, dirty blood, muggle born. He was a Malfoy, son of Lucius, rich in every way possible, or so it seemed. Draco would trade in the abundance of girls he had been with for just one girl he could love all his life. He would love her, and no one, not his father, Potter, Weasley, or all of Gryffindor and Slytherin, would care. It would be accepted. Draco scoffed, it seemed so wrong to want her, but yet there she was in his thoughts…again. He loved her bushy brown hair, even if it was a mass that one would not want to get lost in. It was what made her…her. He loved the way her brown eyes would light up when she figured out an answer to a question, and she would shoot her hand up in the air. The look of eagerness apparent on her childlike features. He loved the way that she smiled, a big full smile, and made him hurt because he could never do so. Up to their fourth year they fought, and Draco threw every insult he know at her, and vice versa. He would always mean what he said too. He really did not like Hermione Granger…until the Yule Ball that is. On that day that Draco almost refused to attend did he see her in a different viewpoint. She looked dazzling, even if she was clutching Krum's arm. She held herself upright, and she had a happiness flowing everywhere. That was when Draco finally realized, Hermione Granger was a woman. She was not a filthy little mud blood, not at all. Draco came to realize that she was human.
//Somehow I ended up here in between, Where there is always the comfort, Of knowing I'll never be seen.//
Every time Draco saw her with Potter and holding hands with Weasley, he could feel his pulse rising, his temples throbbing, and the anger seeping through his skin. He had hid all his emotions for so long, that he was completely numb. He only had feelings for one person, and ultimately the last person on Earth he could have. He tried telling himself that he would never change for anyone, that including Hermione. That was probably the reason why he never got her. He still thought of her though. Even when he knew that she feared him. He watched her, observed her, and realized she was an interesting character. She was too good for him, the good girls always seem to go with the good guys. Certainly not with the guy that had insulted her for the most part of her life, who hated her best friends, who detested Gryffindors, and was cruel and heartless. Yes, well, Draco had to admit that he was all of those things. He was heartless without someone to give him a reason to have a heart.
//When I fall When I fall I wait for just one touch, And I fall//
He never got her. So, Draco prepared to fight. Fight this war like a man, and not a rushed in love fool. He was to defeat the good side, and Dumbledore once and for all.
After all, he wasn't good enough for her anyway…
