Disclaimer: I own not the works of the great Professor Tolkien.
Summary: The tale of Beren and Lúthien told in verse.
Author Notes: I'm not that great at poetry but this popped into my head. My copy of the Silmarillion is missing so some of this may be wrong. Please tell me if it is so. Feedback is welcomed and encouraged.

The Daughter of Thingol and Melian
~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~
In
the lands of death,
Stays a beauty fair,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
She dances at twilight,
With the stars as her crown,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
With ebony hair,
And starlit gray eyes,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
Her raiment of blue,
Flows around her movements,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
There watches Beren,
As the elf maiden dances,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
Tinúviel, he cries,
To the fair maiden,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
She's sees his mortal face,
That ends her grace,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
Through power and might,
Their love endures,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
The winter of death,
Falls about her fair form,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
She sings before doom,
Of sorrow and sadness,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
Námo is moved,
The elf maid sent back with her love,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
The Winter is healed,
The maiden returned,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
The doom shows in her eyes,
And fair Melian cries,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
In the lands where the dead do walk,
Are Beren and Lúthien,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
The Silmaril shines,
And bares down upon the lady, **
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.
She lies down to sleep eternally,
The fairest of those not born to die,
The daughter of Thingol and Melian.

**According to Tolkien, the Silmaril may have caused Lúthien to die sooner than she would have.
