Birthday Presents and Halfway Eaten Cake.

"Happy Birthday!"

Sonny looked up from her spot on the leopard print chair and saw Tawni, Nico, Grady, and Zora standing in the doorway with bright smiles on their faces. Sonny grinned and stood up, hugging them all.

"You guys remembered!"

"How could we forget? What kind of friends would we be?" Nico asked.

"It also helped that you reminded us, oh, I don't know, ten times." Tawni muttered. Zora elbowed her in the stomach and Sonny ignored the two.

"You guys are amazing."

"We are, aren't we?"

"Shut up Tawni." Nico hissed under his breath. Tawni shrugged, examining her nails.

"We have some cake for you in the prop house." Zora informed. Sonny beamed but Grady looked down sheepishly.

"Heh, well.. we sort of have half a cake in the prop house."

"Grady, you can't be serious. You ate half the cake?" Tawni yelled incredulously. Grady nodded glumly.

"Guys, I'll meet you in the prop house in ten." Sonny smiled at them and they all walked away calling their goodbyes. Sonny could hear Tawni hiss something to Grady, causing her to laugh.

"What is wrong with you?"

Sonny sat down at her vanity, giving herself a once-over, making sure her makeup was still in check. She grabbed her coat that was limply hanging off a nearby chair.

"Knock knock?" Sonny slightly jumped in her seat and spun around.

"Was it really necessary to scare me?" Sonny held a hand on her heart, her breathing slowing down a bit.

"Personally, I didn't find my entrance scary at all." Chad shrugged as Sonny rolled her eyes. She got up from her seat and headed towards the door.

"Wait!" Chad called out and Sonny turned around, eyebrows raised. "I got you something." Sonny's eyes widened and she shook her head.

"No. You really shouldn't have." Chad walked out of the room but quickly came back in holding a box. Sonny glanced at it in curiosity. It had various holes and Sonny's mind filled with wonder.

"What is it?"

"Well, why don't you open it and find out?" Sonny carefully took the box out of his hand and she heard a soft whimper. Her eyebrows raised in question.

Woof.

"No way.." Sonny lifted the box lid and squealed.

"You got me a puppy?" She lifted the small animal delicately out of the box and hugged it to her chest. Chad grinned at the sight. Sonny slightly reminded him of a child on Christmas getting the present of her dreams.

"This is amazing Chad." Sonny set the puppy down on her vanity table and wrapped her arms around Chad's neck. Chad stiffened at first but quickly relaxed into the embrace, wrapping his arms around her torso.

"Thank you."

"Anytime, Sonny. Anytime." Sonny let go and turned her attention back to the animal who was wagging his tail, tounge hanging out.

"What are you going to name it?" Chad asked Sonny.

"Sarah."

"Why?"

"Because it's just an awesome name."

"Alrighty then." Sonny giggled and patted the puppy on the head. 'Sarah' jumped off the table and ran around the room. It stopped at Tawni's vanity table's leg. The dog's leg lifted and Sonny groaned.

"Oh, come on."

"You're cleaning it up."
