I did use this song in my YouTube video, but it pretty much reflects how I'm feeling right now.

It's been two days since Dom's funeral. Stella sat in her apartment, in front of the television, not really watching the shows, but grateful for the distraction. Around the city, her workmates - her family - are doing much the same thing. Lawson and Josh sat by a computer in an internet cafe. Shannon was camped next to her radio. Leon was in front of his Intel screens - like always - but had no work. Kerry and Michael were seated next to him, blankly watching as Leon played games. Christian was immersing himself in his family.

I, hate to see you cry,

Lying there in that position.

There's things you need to hear,

So turn off your tears, and listen.

As Stella slowly tuned into the television, the song began to register. The words spoke to her, lifting out of her reverie, forcing her to pay attention.

Pain throws your heart to the ground,

Love turns the whole thing around.

No, it won't all go the way it should,

But I know the heart of life is good.

Josh and Lawson were jolted, as if they'd been hooked up to a live wire, when a YouTube window for I Fight Dragons was suddenly opened. Shannon did the same, unconsciously turning up her radio. Leon's gaming mix happened to include the song, while Christian was driving his kids to playgroup when the car radio clicked into life.

You know it's nothing new,

Bad news never had good timing.

Then, the circle of your friends,

Will defend the silver lining.

Stella felt guilty, as she had been sitting in her apartment for the past two days, unwilling to offer comfort or to be comforted. A similar thought was echoing throughout the team, she felt. So Stella picked up her phone.

Pain throws your heart to the ground,

Love turns the whole thing around.

No, it won't all go the way it should,

But I know the heart of life is good.

At precisely 11:54am, a mass text message was sent out.

"Meet at base in 20mins. xx"

Josh and Lawson nodded to one another, no words were needed. Shannon slowly unwrapped herself from her blanket cocoon, while Christian hurried to be at base in time.

Pain throws your heart to the ground,

Love turns the whole thing around.

Fear is a friend who's misunderstood,

But I know the heart of life is good.

As the team - the family - gathered at base, no words were needed. Hugs were exchanged, beers were snapped open, and laughter was had.

They needed each other. As much as they tried to hide this fact, it was the truth.

They had faced their grief alone for far too long.
