I don't and probably never will own Xmen. If by any chance I did, I wouldn't be on this site, now, would I?

Note: My first shot at an Xmen fic, so go easy on me! This is all about our favorite blue fuzz-ball! Uses info from both the movie and the XME series.

No one really understood how hard life was for him.

He was constantly being chased by mobs of people, yelling evil words.

"KILL THE DEMON!"

They had tried many ways to kill him. Knives, stakes, guns, pitchforks, even fire.

But he stayed strong through it all.

He knew what he was, and it wasn't a demon.

He was merely a boy with harsh mutations, both physically and mentally.

He had had a home once. With his adopted parents and sisters. But not anymore. They had loved him, but abandoned him at the first sight of the mobs. No longer would he be comforted by his adopted family.

He was on his own.

Eventually, he took refuge in and old, abandoned, church in America, far from the mobs of Germany. He often hid up in the creaky rafters at night, where he could see the sky through a hole in the roof. The stars and moon glowed, just like his eyes.

Then one day, everything changed.

Two people walked into his church. A woman with chocolate colored skin and white hair, and another other with red hair and pale skin. The called out to him. But he was afraid. He prayed. Then he ported around the room hoping to confuse them.

No such luck.

Suddenly, the rafter he was crouching on broke, sending him tumbling towards the ground. He closed his eyes, preparing for the impact. I never came. He slowly opened his eyes to see the red-head was holding out a hand. Somehow, she was using telekinesis to make him levitate.

Eventually they talked him into coming with them to a place in New York called, 'Charles Xavier's institute for gifted youngsters'.

And just like that, life was a little better.

He'd met many other mutants with powers like him. There were the two ladies who first brought him there; Jean Grey, who was a telepath, and Ororo Monroe, or Storm as she was sometimes called, due to her weather changing powers. There were also Logan (known as Wolverine from his adamantium claws), Scott (also known as Cyclops for his laser vision), Rouge (who drained the energy from anyone she touched, Bobby (aka Iceman for he could freeze the moisture in the air), and John (aka Pyro, for his ability to manipulate fire).

And then there was Kitty.

Katherine "Kitty" Pryde was probably his favorite mutant at the institute. She could walk through walls, doors, or anything else that got in her way, like it wasn't even there. She was beautiful in his eyes, and he couldn't help but fall in love with her, though he knew she'd never feel the same way.

Who could ever love a blue-furred freak?

She was scared of him at first. She was freaked out by his fur, tail, eyes, and fangs. He tried hard to earn her trust. Soon, all she did was avoid him and barely acknowledge his presence.

It broke his heart every time.

And so went the life of the Incredible Nightcrawler, filled with the fear and hatred of humans and mutants alike, including the one he loved most. He would never have the luxury of normality or the happiness of friendship and love. Never would the world accept him for who he truly was.

He may be Furry.

He may be blue.

But the world didn't know,

He had a heart, too.
