"Tell mum and dad that I don't want a stupid birthday party; I'm only turning twenty-one. After all, they got divorced a year ago, can't do anything about it," Martha muttered into the phone. Tish's voice sounded impatient.

"Listen, Martha. You graduated last year, earliest one in the family, now you're in a medical school, and after all that mum and dad has done for you, you might as well let them throw you a birthday party," Tish argued.

"Well, considering that it'd cost them more money—nice argument Tish," Martha grumbled. There was a loud huff of impatience, then Tish spoke.

"Fine, Martha. Do whatever you want. But just call me if you change your mind." She hung up.

Martha sighed, and threw down her Razor phone. Why did Tish always convince her to do this? She decided to go online. Maybe Jimmy Stone was online… he'd know what to do.

Lucky21: Hey, Jimmy, r u there?

: Hi Martha. What's up?

Lucky21: 21st bday. Tish is trying to convince me to do it. SO I came to the first person I could trust.

Stone. Rose: Cum running 2 ur boyfriend, aye?

Lucky21: Like you're doing something important!!!! watcha doin anyway? Playing WOW?

Stone. Rose: Plz, don't b ridiculous! WOW2, for your information!!! the same time, playing a new E.T. game called "Somebody needs a Doctor".

Lucky21: Believe in aliens, do ya?

Stone. Rose: Duh.

Lucky21: Oi', y is ur screen name "stone rose"? don't tell me ur c*ing some1 else, u unfaithful hog?

Stone. Rose: Oh yeah, Martha, u wish!!! :D Anyway, no… Rose was my mother's name

Lucky21: You said Catherine was ur mum's name!!!

Stone. Rose: middle name then.

Martha sighed, then logged off. Jimmy would be of no use. Guess she'd have to go to her party then.

ONE HOUR LATER

"Oh my God, Tish, I cannot believe you got me into this!!!" Martha exclaimed, as loud music at the club bashed around her.

"It is your birthday! B'sides, it's your birthday!" Tish cried.

"Oi', then why is everyone complimenting your dress?" Martha retorted, crankily.

"Because this dress is a Marc Jacobs. What are you wearing? Henrik's?" Tish asked.

Martha grumbled then sipped her drink. She was going to have to drink a lot of bubbly for this night to fade away.

"Did I tell you, Martha? I've got a boyfriend!" Tish cried. Martha tried to hide her glower, after all, Tish always got everything—she should've been used to it by now.

"Really?" Martha tried to act happy for her sister.

"Yeah! Here, let me show him to you!" Tish pulled her sister over to the dance floor. "Harry, this is Martha, Martha, Harry," she introduced. Martha looked over him. He was young, smooth brown hair with a killer smile. Something was almost sinister about him…

"Hi, I'm Harold Saxon. You can call me Harry though," he said, putting out his hand. Martha shook it. "Ooh, is that dress from Henrik's? It looks beautiful on you, birthday girl," he said, smoothly. Martha couldn't help but blush.

"Thanks. You don't look so bad yourself," Martha replied, hastily, casting uncomfortable looks at Tish. Martha then looked down at her dress. The aquamarine color did pop against her skin, and the white heels were a nice touch.

"Tish, can I talk to you for a second?" Harry asked her sister.

"Yeah, I'll go now," Martha said, and she quickly left. She went back to the bar, and asked for another shot of Scotch. Tap, tap, tap, tap. Tap, tap, tap, tap.
