It was early in the morning, the moonlight was trickling into the messy apartment. There was no lights on in the room. A shadowy figure sat on a seat with a bottle of whiskey. He was sobbing as he drank from the bottle. There was four or five bottles already empty on the ground. He tried to keep his voice down as the other people in the apartment would hear him. It seemed ridiculous, an archangel, one of the most terrifying creatures in creation lived in some scrappy apartment, who worked a human job, and now was crying uncontrollably like a human.

Gabriel's life had been such a mess. His family was always fighting, not seeing the big picture. All Michael and Lucifer cared about is the apocalypse, Raphael and all of the other angels just followed Michael like lost sheep, they were born to be obedient to him. Michael had always treated Gabriel like shit his whole life, Lucifer had to bring him up instead.

The angels were supposed to look after the humans and love them, but all they did was fight and ignore them. Gabriel understood humans, they were complicated, broken but they were better than the angels. They had minds of their own, they chose their own lives. Well, besides the Winchesters, but they were different. Gabriel had only encountered them once, they didn't even know angels existed and saw him as a trickster. He liked them, they were smart, courageous and had a lot of potential. They had no idea what was going to happen to them and how much it would affect their lives.

This was ridiculous. How could his father let this happen. The world was on the verge of falling into war and destruction. He smiled slightly, it was all going to be over anyway. He didn't have to worry about either Lucifer or Michael. Angels didn't go anywhere after they died. No one would ever have to worry about any of them coming back.

Gabriel dropped the bottle on the ground it smashed and liquid splashed everywhere. He was too lost in his thoughts to care. He stopped crying, he whipped his face and just let his eyes wonder around the room. At the back of the room at the darkest part sat a man. Gabriel felt his presence, he knew exactly who it was. The figure stood up and casually strode up to Gabriel. As his face turned to the light his physical features began to stand out. He was short with a small build and had messy brown hair. "Gabriel, this is most un-angel like." He said sort of amused. Gabriel stared at his father. He tried to spit out words but nothing came out. His emotions were stuck between wanting to go up and hug him but he also felt the urge to punch him and yell at him. Gabriel knew that he knew what he was thinking. "Wher-where have you been?" Gabriel chocked out. God smirked and hesitated. "Well, I've spent time with the angels in heaven, now im taking my turn here on earth with humans. To the humans, im going by Chuck Shurley." Chuck murmered. "Have you even seen whats going on out there." Gabriel said briskly slight anger in his voice. Chuck stepped forward, swinging his head slightly. "Yes I have. And this is how it's going to happen. Well, not quite. I gave the archangels an altered version of the future. I'm telling you this because I know that you have no intention of telling the others." He hesitated. "And I also think you will understand better than the others will".
