Captured - The System
The blond laid back in his chair. His head hurt. The accelerant was kicking in. The pain swelled until it was almost unbearable, then abruptly lessened as it finally worked. The room was dark, and his already abnormally large pupils grew until they nearly eliminated any slivers of blue from his eyes. Humming, he sat up straight and tossed a few loose papers from his desk to the floor, watching them intently.
There was a knock at the door. It sounded slow to his ears.
"I'm busy!" he called.
The door opened anyway, and an almost-exact copy of the blond stepped in. He swiveled his chair around to look at the wall.
"Kyntak," he said, "are you ready to go? Jack needs to disguise us."
Kyntak sunk farther down in his seat, hoping not to be seen.
"I know you're in here," his twin said dryly.
"Kyntak isn't here right now. Leave a message at the beep. Beep."
Six's eyes grew wide, and he stormed over to the chair and spun his brother around. "Kyntak!"
Kyntak stared up at him. "What."
Six cursed. "You shouldn't be hitting up right before a mission! Hell, you shouldn't be hitting up at all!"
Kyntak grinned. "Fuck the system." he jumped up from the chair and started bouncing in place. "Let's go to Jack's."
Six attempted to shove his brother back down into the chair, but Kyntak grabbed his arm and slammed him against the wall. Six grunted.
"Right now, I'm stronger than you, and so you'll do as I say. Understood?"
Six nodded reluctantly.
