Anonymous Asked: Charles goes to Liza in Ireland.

Time passes as quickly as smoke from a fire. One second he's buying the ticket, the next he's on the plane. 3 transfer flights and a bus ride later, he's in Ireland. Chasing some 26-year old who can do better than him, and has. She deserves to be with someone her own age, so why is he chasing her across the world? For the slim possibility that she could love him too, that she maybe, just maybe, loves him enough to stop this wedding.

Why would Liza want him in the first place? With his ex-wife drama and her sporadic relationship with her boyfriend, it's the wrong time for both of them to be thinking about anything serious. But with Liza, nothing but forever comes to mind. He's already skipped ahead to the last chapter of their story. Liza's pregnant belly rubbing against him in their bed as he caresses her soft skin and runs his fingers through her hair.

His feet move on their own volition, his eyes scan the streets looking for her, tracking the IPAD he gave her when she first began at Empirical.

He didn't even pack a bag. Just left Diana in charge of anything dire at Empirical, and Pauline was fine watching the girls.

When he stops her, his heart sinks to his knees. But watching her stand next to Josh breaks his heart. And for a split second, he thinks, what will make her happier? Who will make her happier?

"Liza!"

He marches towards the altar, Josh's confused face behind Liza's gives him last minute second thoughts but he strides on, determined for her to choose him. He spots Kelsey on the phone in the corner, but she's staring right at him.

They all are.

"I'm sorry," he says, breathless and takes Liza by the arm to pull her into a kiss. When his lips touch hers, everyone and everything melts away. His heart slows, his lungs fill with the scent of her, and even if she pulls away nothing could top this moment, this spark in time.

"What the hell is going on?" Kelsey screams, phone hanging loosely in her palm.

"I really didn't need to see that again," Josh mutters as he takes the hand of the blond woman next to him and walks down the aisle.

"You can't marry him," he says, pulling her closer. "You're supposed to be with me."

"What!" shouts Kelsey.

"Charles, I'm not marrying Josh. The wedding is over."

"Huh?"

"I-I came to support him. I was just saying goodbye because they're gonna honeymoon here in Ireland."

He's speechless, nerves quickly flooding back as he becomes more aware of all the people attending the wedding.

"I should, uh, I should go."

Liza squeezes his forearm to keep him from walking away.

"Liza, what did I tell you before?" Kelsey says. "With Pauline's book coming out this is the worst time for something like this to happen."

Kelsey turns to him and shakes her head. But he focuses his gaze on Liza. "I'm sorry Kelsey, but I don't want to pretend everything is okay with Pauline when I'm in love with someone else."
