Disclaimer: Tsubasa doesn't belong to me, it belongs to CLAMP. And I'm not CLAMP. (But I wish I was...)
Warning: Spoilers for Chapter 130 of Tsubasa Chronicles, and the Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles: Tokyo Revelations OAD. If you haven't read up to that chapter or seen that OAD, I'd suggest you do that, first.
He had known it was coming from the start. He knew that this would be going against the idiot's wish, and that said idiot would attempt to idiot would offer up a backlash to his decision.
Yet he went through with it, anyway.
The witch, too, had warned him. She had said, clearly, that he would have to take sole responsibility for his decision. And he had surmised as much before she told him that.
Still, he wished to save that man.
All along, he knew this wasn't what the other would want. The other man was so willing to throw his life away for others. But he had long ago promised himself that he'd become strong, so that those important to him wouldn't be taken away anymore.
And, after all, wasn't that man important to him now?
He had known what he was getting into, at least emotionally, when saving the idiot. Sure, he hadn't known what the rest of the situation entailed, but he'd known how the other would react when he found out.
The idiot never thought that this would happen, so of course he'd be mad.
He had expected the words when the new vampire had woken up, but...
"Good morning, Kurogane."
He had never expected them to hurt this much.
AN: It was bouncing around in my head for a while, and I had to write it. Just seeing some random AMVs that include that scene from the OAD kept reminding me of it, but it wasn't really one in particular. It could be KuroFai, or it could just be friendship. All I want to convey is that Kurogane thinks that Fai is important. The exact context is up to you. (Though I like to think romantically. Teehee.)
