"It shouldn't have happened to him," Gohan cried in his mother's arms. "He was so-"
"Shh," Chichi comforted her son, "I know, he was a good person."
"He was always there when we needed him," Krillin held 18's hand tightly. 18 tried to keep the tears from welling in her eyes, but couldn't and she was soon crying with the rest of them.
"I remember during a fight, he gave his life," Gohan whispered.
"He was a loyal friend." Bulma commented sadly. "He spent his life helping us, who'd have guessed he would be killed by a disease?"
"Stupid virus," Yamucha spat angrily and stalked away from the open coffin, Pu'ar following closely behind.
Piccolo landed behind the small congregation around the coffin.
"Piccolo, I knew you'd come," Tien said softly, holding a bawling Chiaotzu in his strong arms.
"Come on guys," Piccolo ordered, "You all know good and well that he wouldn't want any of you crying your eyes out for him."
"Piccolo's right," Gohan nodded, "He would want us to go on with our lives."
"But he was such a good friend," Krillin objected, " I don't want to let him go just yet."
"None of us do," Piccolo told him, "But that doesn't mean a thing. No matter how much we want him to come back, he will never be with us again. Not in the physical sense anyway."
"That's right," Vegeta spoke up from the tree he had been leaning against in his usual solitude, "He'll always be around in spirit."
"That doesn't sound like you at all," Oolong joked lightly. Vegeta shot him a death glare and Oolong shrunk away in fear.
"Well it's what I believe," Gohan interjected. "He's looking over us, even now."
"We'll miss you," Piccolo whispered.

"Hey there," Goku smiled and waved at the newcomer. "I never thought I'd see you up here so soon!"
"So this is heaven. It's beautiful." he looked around at the puffy clouds, "I'll miss everyone down on Earth."
"Don't worry about it," Goku placed a hand on his back. "Let's go, Dende."
