A/N. A little drabble, using the word-prompt 'Silence'. I know, not too original. What're you gonna do? As always, CSI? Yeah, not mine.

The words are painful.
That much Sara is sure of. The word 'No' is such a strong thing, strong enough to pierce into a heart and lie there, festering and agonizing. But if words are painful, then silence is excruciating. If words are daggers in the heart then silence is the twist of the wrist that sends you gasping because of the hurt. Sara knows this. She'll fill the air with meaningless noise to ward off the impending lull. He'll open his mouth but won't find any words. She'll fight to speak. Anything tobreak the silence.
But Sara is always left with a knife twisting in her heart.
